'15 GA WR Preston Williams (UT Signee 2/4/15)

CBJ went ape**** when they flagged PW because Alabama had 2 players in the 2015 class with very similar jumps on their test scores and neither were flagged.

Funny how the NCAA likes to pick and choose when and how to enforce their rules. You'll never see the same punishment twice with them.

Also...**** THE NCAA

It's 2015... Why isn't it just automated?

Clearing House be like...

That is awesome to hear. Hopefully Butch becomes so successful here that he's able to get Cheek and any other admins who are holding back athletics out on their asses while also getting the favor of the NCAA that other top SEC programs enjoy.

If so, then he passed. There's no reason to have him with the team if they had any doubts. Jmo

I agree with this. IF they have his score, then he must have passed, otherwise he wouldn't be participating in team activities. Unless, he didn't pass but still has another opportunity to take it again?

Just a couple of things to ponder:

1) The post by "Jim Bob Cooter" on 247 stating that Preston Williams had not made the necessary score was made '11 hours ago', which would be between 12:30 and 1 am. The post made here by "Mae-ku-dudi" was made at 12:48 am (roughly the same time but likely a few minutes later). They are worded differently and the post here cites a high school coach while the post on 247 cites the family but they are both short and say basically the same thing.

2) "Jim Bob Cooter" joined 247 two months ago and has less than 100 posts and most of his posts claim inside information. "Mae-ku'dudi" joined VN last month and has less than 100 posts and most of his posts claim inside information as well.

I have no idea if Preston Williams qualifies or not but it is pretty clear that these are the same person and at least so far, the only source of this rumor.
Nice detective work. :hi:

The thing for me is either a person is connected or they're not. They're not some beat reporter with multiple inside sources in which some are less reliable than others. You don't call a shot and leave your self wiggle room to back out on a call like this. If a recruit changes their mind that's one thing but a damn test score doesn't suddenly change.

Ah, cool. Add another reason to hate Bama to the checklist.

Speak for yourself, I only listen to a select few for information. The rest, I'll read, but not take seriously.

Yep. I really enjoy when people bring information, but I don't necessarily take anything any insider brings in here as the 100% can't miss gospel. I've learned over time who has good info I can trust. Those guys will usually tell you when they don't know something too. Most of the time people that come out of the wood works may know some good info about a specific situation, but when they try to be the expert inside source on every topic it's pretty obvious they aren't legit.

I try to operate on the basis of....I may actually know some of you in real life and, if I do know you, I probably don't take you seriously. Why in the world would I take you seriously on here then. :)

In all seriousness though. Nothing said on here should be taken as guaranteed. Even if it does come from someone who has proven themselves. Some young men change their mind. Some think it's funny to play games. Some just flat out lie.

Take everything you read on here as entertainment and with a grain of salt, because regardless of what is said, it will not change the final outcome........

Afterthought: sometimes it does work out exactly as told, only to have the coaches say "never mind, look somewhere else".

My opinion is that real insiders wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. Especially on a message board. Especially with recent events concerning inside information and leaks.

Everything I hear is that the AD has not received Preston Williams scores from his retake.

At least that is what the Tennessee Scout board moderators are saying, based on their sources.

Lol Scout

It's funny you're laughing but Danny Parker and staff do an excellent job. It's no different than Hubbs or 247 saying there's nothing new there. They break a lot of stories and have good coverage, but they just aren't copied and pasted here anymore much. They're much better than you give them credit for

They have been much better the last few months.

As of today, there has been no news on his ACT status. The rumors on passing or failing are just rumors, nothing more. Word has not been received.

As far as practice or how he looks the medical staff has not cleared him for anything but straight ahead running. He can't do any cuts or moves. He looks okay in straight line running but that is not catching passes.

He continues to rehab in the football complex.

Per Hubbs

I have done some checking this afternoon and the waiting game continues for Preston Williams. There's no new news from the ACT people according to people I have spoken with. The hope was news in 7-10 working days. Today was business day seven.

We will continue to check on it and chase it.
