Are any pre-game traditions in the SEC better than running through the T?

Obviously as a UT fan I believe there is nothing better than the Vol Walk, running through the T, etc etc. But I will be the first to admit that there are some pre-game traditions that are just incredible.

The pre-game, and the general pageantry of FSU is incredible. Clemson's intro with the buses and the rock is phenomenal. USC has the great tradition with the Trojan in the middle of the field.

But does the SEC have anything better than the T? I've only seen one away SEC atmosphere and that was UGA's and it was a joke compared to ours. I know everyone does their own version of "walk" but what about the actual on-the-field presentations? Anything better than what you get in Neyland?

Go 9-4 at that Nashville school twice a century and Anchor Clown becomes all the rage!

What Urban Meyer used to do with those on conditional release from the Alachua County Jail so they could play each week was really a sight to see. 6-8 times a year they boarded a UF-branded charter bus to head to the Swamp. On their way, Tebow would get them up to speed on the new plays for the week. Every week he'd just reiterate that they're gonna put DTs at FB and run the QB draw. Really a sight to see when they got off the bus.

It's not as good as running through the T but Auburn let's their eagle fly from the top of the stadium down to the field. I hate Auburn but it's pretty cool to see.

I think the fact that I don't know any of the other teams' pregame traditions is a good indicator that none of them are particularly notable. I'm assuming, however, that most SEC fans know about running through the T which they may actually not.

I've been everywhere in SEC but AM. One of the things that always sticks in my mind is the lone trumpet in the upper deck at UGA. Other than that.... Nothing comes close.

It doesn't compare to running through the T but South Carolina coming out to the theme of 2001 A Space Odyssey is pretty cool...

Tennessee has the best pre game performance from band in the country. Hands down*

*I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE THE FACT THEY PLAY THE OPPONENTS FIGHT SONG BEFORE EVERY GAME

WISH THIS WOULD BE DISCONTINUED AND REPLACED BY FACING THE OPPONENTS FAN BASE AND PLAYING ROCKY TOP ALL UP IN THEIR FACES.

I really like our "circle of life" drill as well.

Every team all the way down to the HS level does the Circle of Life drill (my HS team was doing it in the late 60s). We just happen to be the only team that I know of that calls it the Circle of Life.

Seems to have a lot of impact on the game (slow news day) :thud:

Are there any other teams that do that?

Let's see. Auburn has the eagle which is really cool. Florida has an 80 year old male cheerleader come out and lead the crowd. I honestly don't know what anybody else does.

Circle of Life drill (football) and Circle Drill (band) are two different items. I haven't seen any HS bands doing a circle drill. I have seen HS football doing a circle of life drill.

I have often thought that they need to flip the T. Let the offensive team come in from one side, the defense come in from the other, meet and the middle, and run to mid field.

The way they do it now from the end zone entry one section of the T is not run through. It is just kinda sitting there.

Prior to 1984, UT entered from the E. Sideline. Some went left, some went right. Here's the 1980 UGA game.

personally I like that much better. I thought it made a better visual. I also like it because they sat us Pride members in sec D

They just keep moving the band, don't they. :)

When I was in school the band was in Sec. E or F. What about places like Bama & LSU where the band sits way up in the stands? That's got to be a pain to get to the field with the larger instruments.
