Dobbs has proven what? he can scramble?

Who's the better passer?

At this stage, the guy who completed 63% of his passes last year and had a very good stretch as a passer excluding the Vandy game, I'd assume.

Dormady probably has more arm talent than Dobbs so he might develop to be a better passer in the long run, but the loss of the run game aspect kinda evens that out.

He recruited both of them because he believed both had a chance to be really good/fit his offense. Dobbs has so far. Dormady will get his chance to show if he can or not in the future.

If you're saying this in the tone of "why would he recruit Dormady when he has Dobbs", then I'll have to seriously question your intelligence.

Dormandy can though

I was interested in the spelling of his last name...thought it was different.

The real question is where will Sheriron transfer to?

I don't think he does, Fade. At least, not in 2015.

Sheriron's a competitor. He lives for it. And he knows that he hasn't yet competed on even terms with Dormady for the backup job, much less the pole position on a 2017 starting spot.

That competition comes next spring. That's when Sheriron gets the first true gauge of his skillset vs. Quinten's. After that spring shakeout, then we'll see who if anyone transfers.

But I don't think we see anyone go before then.

I remember the 3 incoming QBs being one of the big talks of the recruiting class and several threads and polls were made about how they would turn out.

With Quinten Dormady named the official backup to Dobbs, is it what you expected? Were you surprised? Do you think he keeps the spit and gets the nod even when Guarantano arrives? Clearly he performed well in spring practice and the OW game. And with Jennings moved to WR, it seemed likely he would get the #2 spot.

He'll be the starter in a couple of months.

I believe it was the Bear who told a recruit that "It's your job to do the best you can, it's my job to find someone better" Might not be exact, but close.

Braxton Miller was Big Whatever player of the year at QB, now he is a WR

Most likely. I'm assuming the plan is Dobbs starts this year and likely next year barring an unexpected departure for the NFL, Dormady takes over for junior and potentially senior seasons, then it's Guarantano's turn in 2019.

I don't think Dobbs will go to the NFL. Not because he can't, but because he doesn't want to. Aerospace is a passion major.

I think everyone knew this was coming, QD went through spring practice and SJ didn't. The question is if he can keep that title through the fall and spring practice next year. And on that, I'm not so sure. I think both QB's are special, and it's going to be an interesting battle for sure.
