i know it doesn't matter at this point but was curious if the NCAA had a clause about the SAT being supplemental in this case to the ACT. as in, if Preston had taken the SAT and scored well on it, that it could be used to validate the jump in ACT? knowing the NCAA probably not, but seems like that makes some type of sense to me.

i may be over confident in this since I haven't taken an ACT in over a decade but it just seems impossible for me to think an average student with the academic support team at TN under Joc Scogins can't at least score an 18.

You're probably right. But given the current situation, my guess is there was no supplementary information to validate the score.
Not that a nice score bump should be assumed to be cheated on... Which is a joke.
