'15 GA WR Preston Williams (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Realize he may have taken the test after a game. I dont know i any of yall ever spent a Friday night going allout and then went out with your teammates after the game and then tried to take an ACT, but its not a cakewalk. I have always had academics come easy, but I cant imagine someone who struggles at all and the exhaustion they might feel going to take a test in those circumstances, and then on a retake with no game, you could easily see a large jump.

An 18 is very attainable with the support staff we have at UT

18 is a piece of cake, I barely used dem dair lurnin boocks and scored a 22 and dat wuz after a nite whens I played a basketball game and went to a shindig and drank 14 old Milwaukee's.

You know what is really stupid? Potentially taking away a guy's dream because he doesn't score well on a standardized test. A test that has been shown to not really be a good barometer of all intellect

The silver lining to this situation is each and every time we deal with a retake we get to find out everybody in VN's ACT and SAT scores.

Don't know how that's a silver lining...who freaking cares what their test scores are. Imo there is no added benefit to a highly touted recruit having to retake his test. It just means we could possibly lose them. I remember something happening with hunter that delayed him practicing with the team. Thankfully it worked out for him. Hopefully the p Williams situation will as well. He is probably my very favorite recruit from this last cycle. To have a kid with his skill set that grew up a huge fan is amazing for us

Someone needs a calculator for the math section?

You can use one. I took it a couple years ago and was quite difficult with out it. There are some questions that require formulas and certain things that to do. Some can be done via paper and pencil or mental math. Wasn't really a problem with answering them it just took a long time. I think I left like 10-15 blank because of the amount of time it took on some problems.

I thought the actual addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division had to be simple enough to be done without a calculator. The difficulty came in the form of actually executing the equation.

I wouldn't presume to know the kind of academic & learning background other people come from, so I won't make a crack about this other than to say that that is truly unfortunate

They're not dumb people, but they were awful test takers. I only know 5 or so who didn't score in the 20's.

Never leave anything blank on that test or anything multiple choice. I teach an ACT prep coarse where I work and that's
the first thing we tell the kids.

Good thing you guys have big brains since you don't run a 4.4, jump out of the gym, and have 5* ridiculous ball skills.
