I understand anarchism is a hard concept to grasp when all we've had our entire lives is government thrown in our faces. Our public schools are mothers milk for the beginnings of state worship. We have 1st graders reciting a pledge of allegiance for Christs sake.
I don't want to control anybody, I want to exercise my own talents to be who I think I should be. Most people want the very same things, they are just stuck behind the state and can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's about being human and interacting with your fellow humans in a non violent way. Will there be problems? Of course, utopia doesn't exist.

The core of the matter revolves around the notion of self ownership and the non aggression principle. Some see the NAP as a rule, kind of a law. I see it as a general guideline of how to deal with other people. Will we get there? Who knows.

Sorry Ras, I was having adult talk with DTH and missed your post here.

We were speaking of a hypothetical An-Cap world where there wouldn't be a need for Amendments. DTH can answer it better about the inherent rights of man that aren't granted, but rather lived. Something along those lines. I'm sure he can say it better although I understand the concept.

So why would we need checks and balances in an An-Cap world? Wouldn't free market "dictate" that by the individual choosing who and what?

And why is it you always think I have a hidden agenda?

Ok I finally actually found out what happened.....yes I agree that the state should not have acted like they did but you are using as an example how people act during one of the worst natural disasters in American history.

I never said the city did anything wrong. I simply asked you what should the consequences be if the citizens disobey what they asked?

I think that depends on the situation don't you think? Is he disrupting traffic? Stealing materials to do it? Is he doing it wrong putting other motorists at risk? All those would have to be taken into consideration. There is no blanket answer to your question.

You are absolutely wrong. People will change overnight and live in harmony. I plant green beans and you share your fresh homegrown tomatoes with me. A pothole appears on your street? I will sing zipity do da on my way over as I patch that hole for all of my fellow brethren. The current rich folk will throw all their money into a community kitty because greed will only be a figment of our imagination. Who would want money or power when we can have smiles across our faces that only plastic surgery could remove? Ahhh the beautiful butterflies and fresh air!
