The NCAA Clearinghouse red-flagged Williams' ACT score after a significant jump. His date to retake is expected to be set within 2 weeks.

.....

Get that thing scheduled for tomorrow morning. The NCAA pisses me off more than the Feds sometimes.

Haha. Wow. Ridiculous. And somehow people like Eddie Lacy, Derek Rose, et al. Got to play their college ball and are now in the pros making bank.

@JimmyHyams: Tennessee talented freshmen WR Preston Williams must re-take the ACT, leaving his practice status in jeopardy. Summer workouts begin Aug. 4.

If someone theiretically goes from a 14 to a 24, why does it take you months to figure this crap out?? The software should flag these things imideately and contact the student.

What do they consider a significant jump?

I took mine five times. From the first time to the last time, mine jumped 12 points (6 points the fourth to the fifth time).

There's probably a lot of questionable tests out there nowadays with all of the technology. Unfortunately, Preston Williams would not be moved to the front of the line because he plays for UT. Just a thought, if they go through these things alphabetically then he would definitely be one of the last to be looked at. Idk, just a thought.

Nick, the reason it takes months is that it goes into a investigation stage. During this stage they are comparing handwriting between tests and ensuring security procedures were followed.

In these cases they have looked at both ACT/SAT scores and compared these scenarios as well. End summary, they don't make you take the validation test unless something has been found or suspect.

Here is the deal, I'm not saying the young man cheated but if you are going to cheat. Cheat on the first test and never take another. With only one test there has never been a case of having to take a validation test.

I'm now fully expecting Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara, Sutton, Maggitt, and Barnett to get suspended simultaneously and Butch to accept a position as Michigan's water boy the night before the season starts.

The only saving grace I have is if there is any administrators in the country to get him cleared fast it's ours. Scoggins and Welton are the best.
