He could play a Pharoh Cooper role for the team on offense. Just move him around all over the place and let him make plays.

I like that comparison. He can do those things and we have plenty of film to show its success with cooper eating us alive lol

Fantastic interview of Butch on 104.5. I'll try to find the link on it when they put it up.

I think Jennings will play both ways as a WR and a DB. He is too good of an athlete. I also think they will have some type of package with him at QB. Just my opinion.

Yes. I said this when we signed him. Even if he plays another position, put him in a wildcat package. Let him get comfortable at QB along with using his athletic ability. Not saying to do it in crucial situations, but he could be dynamic with the ball.

I'm just imagining that first reverse we do with him where the defense bites and he drops one 50 yards to Preston Williams for a TD

Y'all missed the point of my "QB" posts. He was absolutely 100% told he would get a shot at that position.

Now I have always said he has unlimited potential at Safety.

JJ is a smart guy. He obviously saw the writing on the wall. I no longer have any info on this kid since Jr's move to Riverdale, so o don't know if it was his choice.

He would absolutely light it up at WR too.

I think any kid that was thinking about his future would see the writing on the wall with where he stands in a QB battle that is only going to get more fierce when you add JG and possibly Johnson and Lawrence in 3 straight classes. His future pro career would be at another position so might as well get a jump start on it. I think he has a chance at WR to make an impact this season. We need the depth and the kid makes plays with ball in his hands. He has Malones skill set with that DOG mentality that Z loves and wishes Malone had more of

Well evidently no podcasts available. Here's my very rough recap:

-Josh Dobbs has photographic memory. Butch told a story about his official visit where he (Butch) drew a play on the board, quickly discussed routes, protections, etc., erased it immediately, came back 5 min later and had Josh redraw the play. He redrew it and described all details perfectly.
-Darren Kirkland also has been tested to have photographic memory.
-The staff is constantly updating technology in meetings including 3D graphics now.
-They have a sleep program to make sure all players get 8-9 hrs a day at 68 degrees. Kahlil was only getting around 3 hrs a night and is now in the 8-9 hr range.
-Hurd is at 240-ish pounds. He's been challenged to build his body to be more of a complete back. Running behind his pads and using his body as a weapon were also discussed.

Caught it when they had already started, so I'm sure I missed something. Please forgive the errors.

Listening to Eric Berry serves as a reminder that life is too short. Life is a blessing and everyday is an opportunity to get the most out of your life. Don't settle, don't get down on yourself either. Pick your head up because today is a great day regardless of what happens. Bless Eric Berry and his family for being strong every day.

Unforgivable. Jk thanks for the info.

My guess is that he knows he is #4 right now and barring a spate of injuries or transfers, he falls further behind next year. As promised, Butch gave him the chance, but JJ likely sees that he stands a better chance of playing other spots. Coming into Fall camp he is opting for playing over holding out. Seems pretty rational and if the unthinkable happens he can easily be pulled back to QB.

JJ at WR. Can't wait.

Trying to think of other similar stories at UT. Wasn't Cory Fleming brought in as a QB that quickly (and quite successfully) made the jump to WR?

Mose Phillips

It's getting hard to imagine this offense being outside the top 3 in the SEC *IF* we can get some average OL play.

I don't know about you guys, but Eric Berry's story is something that is really really inspirational to me. Imagine, you're a high caliber athlete on top of the world, top 5 pick etc etc and then you're diagnosed with cancer. To be able to fight back and not only beat cancer, but get back to playing in the highest level of competion in playing in the NFL. It really is something truely remarkable.

Wow. So excited to hear that about Kirkland. That will be huge.

And that sleep program sounds very interesting.

Played against Corey in HS and he was phenomenal at QB

Serious question. How does Dobbs sleep 9 hours, be a SEC Quarterback, and be a rocket scientist?
