O-Line Starting 5 Predictions

if Robertson is not the right guard he will be the center. He will start.

this will be game one and barring injury, game 12.

LT Kerbyson
LG Jackson
C Crowder
RG Robertson
RT Kendrick

Staff not excited about it but believe this is best combo they have. very nervous time.

I'm not excited about it either. Hopefully they've improved from last year's disaster.

Last years disaster was caused by an immobile QB and an front loaded schedule with no time to develop.

Chattanooga still had 5-6 sacks. Missouri had 6 sacks even with Dobbs in.

There was a lot more to it than Worley being immobile and our schedule being front loaded. Dobbs helped cover their inadequacies a bit. But it's not like our OL became world beaters (or even average, really) once Dobbs took over.

Drew richmond starts at right tackle jashon at rg crowder at center marcus jackson. Lg then its. Kyler vs blair at LT no way drew flips from ole miss to back up kendrick as bad as coleman thomas played last year theres no way drew doesnt start

Rivals are poring over the Missouri and Vandy game film. With film on Dobbs and no OL upgrades it will be interesting to see how DeBord can manipulate things to get the most production. SEC D coaches have enough film on the offense to come up with game plans. Should be a development to really pay attention to as season progresses.

they would be very surprised at that. strength.. needs more strength

Not disputing this ... but does Drew have less strength than Coleman Thomas did at this time last year?

Does this 5-star kid have other off-setting attributes, such as significantly more quickness? Just wondering.

LT- Marcus Jackson (moved from LG) 6-2- 306
LG- Charles Mosely 6'5- 370
C-Mack Crowder 6'2 - 295
RG-Jashon Robertson 6'3- 304
RT- Dontavius Blair 6'8 - 300

I think this group gives up less than 15 sacks

Thoughts?

This can't possibly be a legit guesstimate. Come on man. Neither Blair nor Mosley are getting any run this year. Just no reason to believe they will

We wouldn't see Robertson at center unless we get the injury bug. If Crowder were hurt it'll most likely be Dylan Wiseman at center. Not a great snap but maybe the best interior back-up. Jashon probably the emergency guy.

There was no else last year to keep Thomas on the bench. Until Richmond shows enough, of lots of things, to beat someone out he won't be able. He lacks strength but right now he also lacks the knowledge and understanding to push someone. There is not a way to expedite those things over someone that has a couple years even if that someone is not exactly what they would like out there.

Had Gilliam not gotten hurt Thomas likely would not have played as much as he did. In fact, Gilliam replaced him after a few weeks of rehab of a torn ACL. Thomas trying now to get more playing time but he is struggling to do so.

I think if someone would step up and take LT, Kerbyson would move to RG and they would insert Robertson at center. I think they would like to see that happen or Thomas prove he could handle center.. they would like more physicality at that position.

Every time i think of Thomas he was getting run over and thru play after play, i know he was a freshmen but i hope we got a ACE up our sleeve.:whistling:

I don't see Blair making it on the field.

Thomas has a way to go to be the 2nd best center on the team.

Unlike some of the other posters who only criticize your post OP, I will do as you requested and offer my predictions... AND criticize your post.

LT- Kendrick
LG- Jackson
C- Crowder
RG- Robertson
RT- Kerbyson

I would not at all be surprised to see Jack Jones or Drew Richmond break the starting lineup at either of the tackles. However I think the interior line is all but cemented in. Jackson, Crowder, and Robertson all started last season. I think Crowder was the only one to not start a game and that was due to injury. And our interior line wasn't that bad last season...it was the tackle spot. That being said, who knows what the heck Coach Mo will put together on the Oline this season.

The small hole in our 10 win dreams may have a DE crashing through it. I do hope Debord at least schemes for our issues better.

We looked worse when Crowder was out last year. I can understand the desire to upgrade but are these guys at least looking serviceable LWS?

Well here's hoping on of our freshmen OTs can pull a Jashon Robertson or the light switch finally turns on for Blair. I really like Kerbyson at OG and if Robertson can snap the ball as well as Crowder, then he'd likely be big upgrade at C.

I'm not getting my hopes up for us at LT this year though. Sounds like we're still a season or two away from having a truly solid OL from LT to RT. Hopefully we'll improve enough up front this year to keep Dobbs upright and open up some holes for Hurd and Kamara.

LT Kerbyson
LG Jackson
C Crowder
RG Robertson
RT Kendrick/Blair/Richmond (IMO RT will be an interesting battle in fall camp. I believe Kendrick will ultimately be the starter on September 5th)

Hoping in 2016 it looks like this

LT Richmond
LG Wiseman/ Sanders
C Thomas
RG Robertson
RT Kendrick

IMO we need to try to find some big TE's that can likely grow into Tackles. Cause it seems like a lot of the O-linemen we sign aren't athletic enough to be Tackles so we move them to Guard.

the chances on Richmond would have been far better had he gotten in school in January. That makes it difficult. Getting lighting in a bottle two years in a row with freshmen is asking a lot.

Just doesn't sound likely from what I hear

agree on last year..

By guys I assume you mean starting 5 I listed??

They would like to upgrade but will only play the 5 they think best. The belief is the one's I listed are the 5.
