Maybe since the "new" Earth is actually older than us, they have life that is far advanced than us and will actually contact us first.

Yeah, all you have to have are the right temperatures, ingredients, a little energy and boom! Life happens!

So it says that the year is 385 days long, only 5% longer than Earth. But I haven't seen how long the days last? With it being that much bigger I'd think the days would be longer but I'm no physicist lol. Just makes me wonder

Why the theophobia? Don't be intolerant.

It's a shame none of us around today will likely be around when the real exploration starts. Still, knowing what's out there and the endless possibilities that we haven't scratched the surface of makes you feel small in the best way possible. Here's to one day crashing their party and trading the natives some space beads for their most valuable property.

It would take hundreds if not a thousand years for humans to possess the technology to travel such a far distance. If you were to board a ship and launched it towards this destination, you would be dead by 200 years before the ship actually arrived on the outskirts of the zones we are exploring. These planets make the New Horizons mission seem like a drive to the local Wal-Mart. It really is nuts to think about how incredibly massive the universe truly is.

I'm not saying it'll happen in this lifetime or the next few, but the most powerful and innovative country in the world hitching rides to space with the Russians, is not a promising way to get the ball rolling....

Was hoping they'd announce that they have another Space Shuttle, as seen in Sharknado3.

You're just skeert your gawd might be showing another planet some attention. Don't be so jelly, Sandy.

Must be a Mormon planet. Good Mormon's get to be the God of their on planet in the afterlife. That is better than the Muslims 72 virgins, no.
