Iran deal unlikely: what's next?

You do realize the political climate we live in today?

Our politicians today on both sides criticize everything the other side suggest.

What would be wrong if Obama /Kerry actually pulled off a good deal?

What would a "good deal" even look like? In reality, gramps, aren't these good deals simply measures passed which make politicians feel good about themselves and give them something to crow about but will never be adhered to in the long run?

Nothing would be wrong, that would be great. All that I'm saying is that these politicians, especially R politicians would not be criticizing this deal so vehemently without some knowledge. If Kerry/Obama pulled off the deal of the century they would drug through the coals by the main stream press.

The deal will fail, just as everything with Obama's presidency has been a failure. Will Israel strike, no. Why? They still rely on our aid and support, Israel will not attack without our blessings.

But hell who knows, maybe WW III is Obama's parting gift to us.

Disagree, he isn't a total failure like the fear mongering bush, the economy IS a helluva lot better. I do disagree with some of his policies though. The problem right now is stagnant wages and rising prices, not gay rights, abortion, or gun control.

Some parts of the economy are better, some aren't.

What we've seen so far as the framework and mentality suggests this simply will not happen.

The final straw for me was when the joint letter from all those past FP experts indicated this is a flawed deal.

Add to that, Obama's general FP approach and instincts have shown to reflective of wishful thinking or a misunderstanding of motives and I'd say chances of a good deal are virtually zero.

And to head off one of the Obama responses; that doesn't mean the only other option is full-scale military intervention.

I do know the drill. It's just weird that a 50+ year old man finds it fun to stir the pot so frequently. And, most of know exactly what he is doing, too. I can understand the behavior from people in their teens and 20s but not a middle aged professional man.

LG has certainly earned your remarks.

How many more posters here on VN do EXACTLY the same **** stirring just as frequently (except maybe from a different political stance)?

Decent question, Danl.

A better question is how many posters here are on a gator board that is predominantly democrat/liberal leaning and stir those pots with partisan BS?

ETA: I certainly don't mind LG. In fact there are times when he has really good insight.

If the discussion and forum were about college athletics, that would be a batter question. But its a political discussion on a political forum wherein college athletics is rarely mentioned. To me, political **** stirring is political **** stirring. I observe that one side's **** stirrers get called out much more than any other side. Just an observation.

Yes, sometimes he does. There are a few/several/many on this forum that never or almost never do.

LOL! Well, if the discussion HAD been about college athletics, a batter question may have been more appropriate.....

Very good point.

Typos aside, i think you make a good point. There are posters that contribute nothing of substance. Im the poster child for that. There's very little discused in this forum that piques my interest besides looking for a humorous opportunity. I like this forum because i enjoy the people who post. But, and this is where i can nit pick with you, anyone can tell that the majority of the posters here are center right or Libertarian. So, coming on here to stir the pot as a center left seems silly. There are really good posters who contribute from the left and, to reiterate, I've read really good stuff from LG occasionally.

Yelling 'death to America" as talks are being done is not a good idea but Obama w/those ears of his can't hear all that. He just wants his name to go in the history books as having something done while in Office. It's a pretty bad deal from the start as America should pull out quickly now when Iran will not even let inspectors inside their country to see how the day to day operations are working in the progress as they continue. Iran is hiding their lies & will not be compliant to any country as they feel they will not be told what to do & how to run their country.

Why should any country bbe expected to answer to the US? They have national sovereignty just as much as we do... or Israel for that matter. Israel hasn't allowed inspectors in or signed any nuclear treaties, yet we treat them differently.
