'15 GA WR Preston Williams (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Yeah everyone says that, but that's the part I don't see. Not particularly fast, not physical, not much wiggle, doesn't go up and get it, and drops a lot of routine balls. Just seems like an average SEC talent at wide receiver. I think North, Pearson, and PWill are all three clearly more physically talented.

Malone runs like a deer he's just smooth. Kid will be fine if he plays up to his talent level.

would it be fair to say that striders like JM are more suited for deep(er) routes rather than screens and most of that garbage Bajakian ran last year.

Good point about Bajakian too. Different playcalling can only help the offense this year. If I see more than 1 Pig Howard jet sweep this year I might lose my mind.

Malone is as fast on the top end as any WR we have... When it clicks, he can be one of our best players on the field.

Pig averaged 6.5 yards a carry last year. The sweep doesn't always work but it's also used to set up other plays. Still I will take 6.5 anyday.

The idea of Dobbs having a legitimate deep threat is just scary. Being able to read-option and then fire a pass down the sideline: Nasty. It'd be just like the Auburn offense the last two years.

North is one of the best in the country if he's healthy and given a chance. Funny how the WRs got open much better with Dobbs though. I've sit up and watched quite a few games from last year and you can tell which QB the WRs liked.

Didn't exactly have time to throw deep passes when Worley was QB. He typically ended up killed by a LB, DE or blitzing DB

I hate hate hate this statement. So much so that I went back and counted. They had at least 30 deep passes (plenty by Worley) in the 10 games I watched where they had time and they either missed by a mile or the WR couldn't get separation. They weren't under pressure literally every single snap of every game.

Worley was throwing toss up picks on 1st and 10. Watching him wait on WRs to get wide open bothered me. Tight coverage on big WRs means nothing. Our WRs did not lose ONE fade route throughout the season. I'd take my chances throwing it up to these big WRs.

Unfortunately there is truth to this statement.
Same could be said for the defense when they realized Peterman was starting against Bama.

They played much better after Dobbs came in it seemed.

It's a difference of knowing the ball is going to come out instead of being he onto and guided In with caution

I remember watching the Jalen Hurd highlights when he was blowing up. Kid was just running away from people left and right, putting 30 yds between him and the last DB before he scored.

There was one clip, Jalen busts through, and before you know it he's streaking down the sideline with a straight line to the end zone.

This blur comes flying from the opposite side of the field, catches him right as Jalen crosses.

I remember thinking, who in the hell just ran down Jalen Hurd?

It was Josh Malone.

I completely agree. Go watch North's insane catch against Georgia in 2013. He was wide open for 15 yards before Worley finally threw it. He honestly waited too long and missed what would've been a walk in touchdown if not for one of the best catches I've ever seen

I saw this in person. The best part was the roar from the crowd as North broke wide open. Packed house in Neyland that day, and Worley was the last person in the stadium to see him.

Hell of a catch though.

No the one catch versus Oklahoma should've shown everyone what we had in him. We throw a zombie screen versus 5 yard off coverage. He breaks the CB Zanchez(who's a decent CB) tackle, stiff arms the safety to the ground and punishes the other safety to end the catch. I was hollering at TV feed him. Obviously Jake couldn't hear me from the house since he did no such thing. :)

I thought you were hollering to "feed Hurd!"

Hate to be that guy but many in hendersonville thought he was overrated before and after he committed. I hope they are wrong but there has always been a large group out that felt this way.

Interesting. I live here and this is absolutely the first I've heard of this.

A large group? How large? Half a dozen drinking buddies large or half of the Gallatin/Hendersonville area large? Seems like if it was the latter, I would have heard something about it. As it is, I've never heard anything even remotely close to this.
