Cheating Under Rick Barnes

He can't file suit until he knows the results of the investigation. It will be the NCAA he sues and every coach in America including RB Will back him. He is in the same situation. That is what speaks volumes.

Um no he can and would sue UT for wrongful termination.

And no....Barnes is not in the same situation. It's not even close.

Yes let's use common sense; why would UT fire a guy who has an iron clad contract for cause if they didn't really know if they had cause or not?

I've asked Buzz and SD this question umpteen times and have yet to get an answer because it is the coup de grâce to their argument.

Cactus blossum

Are random words getting us anywhere?

He believes Hart fired Tyndall because he had "inside info" that Barnes would be available.

Nevermind that UT's attorneys would advise Hart that would not be cause to fire Tyndall and therefore would strongly be against it.

Yeah, I know. Like you said though, it still doesn't make sense because Barnes being available isn't justification for firing Tyndall without cause.

That idea has yet to be logically addressed by SD or buzz.

Well be back after this non sequitur commercial break. .....a big brown bear in keds....We now resume pointless argumentative programming.....

I have addressed this repeatedly. Here it is again for your perusal. Dave Hart spoke on Tuesday about how much he was standing by DT. On Wednesday, it was announced that RB was leaving Texas. On Thursday while DT was on a recruiting trip UT officials jumped on a plane and went to NCAA headquarters to find out what they could on DT. Now why this was allowed without informing DT, I have no idea. Evidently they thought they found something they could use to justify terminating his contract. Must have been a doozy discussion because DH said the next morning he got an hour and a half sleep. DT said he was totally blindsided when he was told he was fired on Friday morning. The proof of this is that Rob Gray was on campus for a recruiting trip that day. (Sure could use him now!) So, as in most major corporations, DT is escorted to the door and left to break the news to his family. The NCAA restricts him or the university from opening their mouths until the investigation is complete. The university opened their mouth before the investigation was complete. So here's where we stand, DT says when he is able to speak the s--t will hit the fan and the NCAA continues digging trying to prevent that from happening because they had no idea the intention of UT was to fire DT to hire RB.

Thanks for actually answering, but that is one wild @$$ conspiracy theory.

Dave Hart looked for reasons not to fire Derek Dooley...hard to believe he was looking for reasons TO FIRE Tyndall. This is shoe on the other foot type of stuff. Can we get through ONE SEASON without all this conspiracy bull and petty back and forth? Dave Hart knows what the NCAA says they had on Tyndall and I'm confident he wouldn't put the university at risk. If Tyndall could shoot down all allegations, he'd still be our coach.

Keep in mind, this guy was Baghdad Bob all during the Tyndall mess, swearing nothing was going to happen. He's merely clinging to any delusion left and there is nothing but conspiracy theory left.

Now listen my friends, this debate/ argument has gone on in here long enough. So let's change the subject. Pretty please?

The Donnie Tyndall/Rick Barnes stories being covered extensively in the national media have told me one thing: There are A LOT of people who loathe Tennessee athletics and get immense joy out of seeing bad things happen to the university and its sports teams.

I think this is the most valid opinion in this thread. Texas saying they have no information means they don't have any, period. It doesn't mean they might have some later. Geez you guys have serious OCD problems LOL.

I agree, Auntie D. I am only disappointed because I do not think our basketball team will be as successful with RB as they would have with DT. That is just my opinion, of course. I saw the guy coach for a year and he was IMO the best young gun out there if he was at a place like Tennessee where he could pull in the recruits. For Jabari's sake and the rest of the team, I really do hope that RB can be as successful as I thought DT would be. It would have been much better for Jabari if he had not had to experience another coaching change. This year was rough on him and the new guys and double rough on the older guys. Not a good thing especially when they have to learn a totally new system.

SD, as I always say everyone is entitled to an opinion. You even have the right to defend it. But Stop stressing yourself and causing yourself undue strife by going back and forth day in and day out with these guys. You're never gonna see it their way and they're never gonna see it your way. That's just the way it is in VN. I've learned that. Sometimes you just have to walk away from it. Now, that doesn't mean that you gave in or that they wore you down. It just means that you've had your say and you're done with that and moving on.

I appreciate you're concern. Jabari and the team will be fine. They are rough and tough and strong enough to make it through whatever comes their way. Just like last year and the years to come, I'm gonna pray for a successful season no matter what.

Now you just sit back and relax a little. Whatever happens...happens. This type of stuff can and will consume your every thought. So, Keep believing whatever you want to about your favorite coach. No one can take that from you. Just release and let go.

Remember this...
" Life's too short to wear tight shoes." That's an inspirational book written by a friend of mine. Her name is Barbara Faison. Read it if you get a chance.

Keep calm and Be well SD!:salute:

This is the last I'm going to say on this. You have proven to everyone here that you are 100% a Tyndall homer. For whatever reason you chose to take on that role, that's your business and your right.

So when you say you don't think we'll be as successful under RB as we would be with DT, I'm not sure you honestly believe that or if in some way you're hoping we're not because of said pro-Tyndall stance. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you honestly thought DT would be better for us, but no knowledgeable basketball fan I know would come to that conclusion honestly. That doesn't mean I or anyone else thinks RB will take us to the FF or a championship, but to say you were convinced DT could and RB can't? All I can say to that is "Come on man!" in my best Chris Carter voice.

I sent an email to Vol Nation mods and didn't want to post in this thread, but maybe they will see it here since it was last week and nothing has been done about it. Can we block/delete this thread. First it's off topic, second the headline is terrible for current player's families and recruit's families to read it when they look at this message board, and we all know there are some on here. The headline is embarrassing. If people want to compare/contrast Donnie Tyndall and Rick Barnes, start a new thread with that headline.
