Yeah seems that way to me also. But how awesome could the '15 wide receiver class be if you add Martin and Jennings to P. Williams!!
It's written plain as day in Freak's site rules. There's an obvious demarcation between discussing a player's skills or ability ("_____ needs some work on his coverage") vs discussing a player's personal character ("______ is a piece of crap"). The first one is always okay. The second one is not.
Martin didn't stick at WR in JC in part because he is a potential lock down corner but also because he just doesn't have the hands to play WR. Thats one reason he will be a kick returner but not a punt returner at Tennessee. That doesn't lessen his ability to be a great CB one day though. I'm guessing it will be 2016 before he's a starter though unless we have injuries.
coming out of Ga and moving to TN Justin was a RB. When he left to go to Juco he was listed as an athlete. Our organization along with the UT staff helped place him. He was probably one of the top 3 RBs in the state but due in part to poor academics had to take the Juco route. His rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism is what made him elite. The coaches at UT requested the change to CB and it was purely based on what they saw when he played it at Overton. But he did play some minimal in the slot
That's cool, I didn't know our coaches could place a guy and request the position he play. Off the wall question... What's in it for the JuCo coach? Is he depended on to maintain the kid's loyalty to the D-1 school that placed him there? I always wondered how that worked.
Nah at 165lbs he's got to handle the physicality of the league. I watched Sutton first year have trouble getting off stalk blocks at times from just a strength standpoint. We've got second and third year guys that'll be able to cover well enough plus play in the run game.
