I was reflecting on how silly "Holy Russia" sounds.
But when you boil it down to the essential element, I guess the conservative Christian talk of God-bestowed American Exceptionalism really isn't that much different.
So it goes.
so the NATO expansion in 2011 is a threat to Russia today? and media Russophobia? again this never gets enough attention for it to be true Russophobia, granted when it is written it is negative. but no one source parades it up and down like RT, Pravada and others do for America. and what do the Russians care they can't see the negative stuff anyway (TV), or agree with it?
also we are getting darn close to 12k, Prof through a pie and get this thing moving.
*bold is edited, misread the date for Georgia. still not a threat. its not really much encirclement as it is encroachment if you want to make the argument.
Of course western media portrays Russophobia everyday. Our media is government controlled and scripted. Talking about fascism!!!!
Ukraine had a DEMOCRACY before the coup. Because it wasn't pro America, we stepped in to change that. We've done it all over the world.
Open thine eyes and thine shall see...
My and your government is the most lying, corrupt govt in the world, bar none...
That's it. You're done.
You have to be the biggest non-sensical loudmouth Russian ass-kissing, fascist sycophant this side of Omsk.
You're pathetic, and I resent the fact that, for some reason, you're allowed to post your nonsense and hateful drivel on this board.
While I always had high hopes for you, you're no different than Ras. Just two stupid peas in a big dumb pod.
Anyhow, you can put me back on ignore if you like.
On a related note, can anyone post three reasons why Russia is not a neo-fascist country?
I'll help start:
1. It (somewhat) supports economic interdependency (quasi-internationalism) rather than pure self-sufficiency, although this is debatable.
At times the government manipulates news reporting (e.g., see Judith Miller), but it hardly controls the media.
If you think this is the most corrupt government in the world, you clearly don't pay attention to what happens outside America's borders.
Hahahahahahaha! Who is more? I'll hang up and listen..

our media spends too much time hating on our government and societal issues to ever fall under the "glossing it over" category like some others.
Putin might be looking for a partner in Pope Francis, but the issues that divide them are many. With the Ukraine conflict again on the verge of escalation, that divide will likely only get larger.
The most prevent form or "glossing over" is to spend a majority of time covering inconsequential/stupid stuff, show YouTube videos on the evening news, etc.
The biggest area of government manipulation is those issues where the government is the gatekeeper of "inside" information: terrorism, intelligence, etc.
Meanwhile, in uncorrupt Russia:
Moscow officials license referendum to restore monument to KGB founder Dzerzhinsky ? RT Russian politics
I love Schindler's commentary on Russia and its treatment of the NKVD, KGB, etc., with such national holidays as Security Day. Basically, the point is, a normal country would not make a holiday to commemorate the founding of an organization that killed more people than Himmler's SS. But, then again, no one has ever accused Russia of being a normal country.

Could you pass the screening?

As Louder pointed out, it's getting about that time, gents. Since Velo started this thread, I'll gladly defer to him to start the second one as well.
Getting about that time, yes sir. I'm giddy like a schoolgirl.
