Screw the dang numbers. Right now a 17 year old kid is scared to death about his future. We're sitting here discussing the luxury of having 4 healthy tight ends.

I sincerely hope Devante heals quickly and truly commits to the physical therapy after surgery. My heart and prayers are with him and his family. I pray if he doesn't remain committed to us that he gets his education paid somewhere.

God bless this young man and we all need to support him regardless of the final outcome.

Prayers don't fix knees

Why must you be "that" guy?

The post you responded to felt as if it were made in full heartfelt sincerity. We get it. Surgeons fix knees. Why is it necessary to dump on someone else's good intentions and well meaning words? Why not do yourself a favor and just save time by ignoring the post and saying nothing at all?

Because this is a message board. Responding to posts is the point. The guy stated we should be praying instead of discussing his football future. This is a football forum, so his football future seems very relevant to the discussion. Sorry, maybe I should have expanded my original post to say as much...

Maybe skip it? Easy enough? :hmm: I read the same post and I didn't see a recommendation for faith healing.

I never said "we" should pray. I said "I" would pray. I don't speak for anyone but myself. I ultimately felt last night that discussing scholarship totals was a bit to soon considering he is probably reading the thread and the injury just occurred.

That's my opinion and I'm sure I'm entitled to it as well on this message board.

It seemed more like an attack on his notion of praying for the kid. You didn't say anything in that post regarding Brooks's football future, other than making a very obvious statement that he'll need surgery in what could be taken as a derogatory manner towards the other poster.

As an edit, it's all good. I apologize if I came off a little harsh. It just seemed like a worse statement than it was probably meant to be.

I will respectfully disagree. I have seen prayers fix a lot of things that would amaze most people. God can do anything. And whether the young man plays for Tennessee or someone else I pray his knee comes back stronger than ever.

Pass a memo to god then, tell him he may want to start nipping some of this crap on in the bud so the VOL faithful don't have to scramble the jets and get those "save the knee" prayers up.

Y'all realize if football, basketball and baseball wasn't the dominant sports here in the US, we'd dominate in soccer. Would have multiple world cups by now...
