'15 IN LB Darrin Kirkland Jr (UT Commit 12/15/14)

Sorry to do this on DKJs thread, but was there not a time when Weatherd was a 3yrs to play guy? Coulda sworn hr came in as a Soph

This was my understanding as well. Same for VP.

We need VP back (of course if he's not guilty) but he's crucial to the success of our WR group as a whole.. I know we have other horses but aside from that nasty ankle injury early last season and time spent getting back in his groove he was productive..

I think there was talk that he might redshirt his sophomore year at TVCC. I believe he was injured that year but he decided to come back rather than sit the rest of the year out instead of apply for a medical/hardship waiver.

Technically he did have 3 years to play. But 3 years to play 2 seasons (since he has never used his redshirt).

If healthy he's our starting MLB this year IMO. Just cant see them going with any of the returning guys after how much they seemed to struggle last season and in the spring.

What are the most recent true freshmen we've had start at MLB? AJ, Dominique Stevenson?

On the positive side, Darrin Kirkland Jr. is ahead of schedule in his return from a torn pectoral muscle and in fact, Kirkland has resumed lifting in the weight room and expressed to Vols’ coaches a desire to make up for the time lost due to the injury.
