if it makes you feel any better i called 4-8 also but really don't want to see it happen.

i figured that a coaching staf that could take a 12-1 team to 4-8 could surely do it with a 5-7 team.

if you are happy about being right that we have any type of losing record at the university of Tennessee in football you are not a Tennessee fan you are a troll and like to make others that are real fans miserable with your trashy predictions and hope for horrible records for our vols.

Is it wrong for me to come here to VN, for my own pathetic pleasure, I like watching posters start threads, most with honest intentions, then these posters get flamed and bashed to hell.

This is what happens on here "posters get flamed and bashed to hell"...it never changes.

Facts:

Year 1: 5-7. Most common comment posted--"We will be young, but much improved in 2014
but 2015 is when Tennessee is back."

Year 2: 6-6. "It's a process. We are young. We will compete for the East in 2015 but 2016 is really our year."

Year 3: Offseason--CBJ is awesome, DeBord is Awesome. 10 wins, 9 wins, Blow FLorida out.

When you return 18 starters, have back-to-back Top 5ish recruiting classes, one of the SEC's most highly touted QBs and talent all over the field, expectations do tend to creep upward. If results don't match, there's a problem.

So TallGuy, you resurrected this dead thread to show those of us who weren't on VN back then that you predicted 4-8 and were wrong in 2013? Or was there another reason I'm missing?

I may be wrong, but I think the program is headed in the right direction and I see lots of reasons for optimism. I don't think it's blind faith, but reality. We shall see.

Seems lots of doom and gloom are "accepted"...just not embraced. Especially when it's the usual suspects moaning and grousing. :pinch:

Before the season I predicted 4-8. I hoped against hope I was wrong and even jumped on the CBJ bandwagon after the UGA game...but now, losing to Vandy who did EVERYTHING they could to give us that win...I fear Kensucky will find a way to beat us. As I have said for many years...Go Vols anyway.

I hope we can at least beat ky, that will give us 2 conference wins...better than last year.

But your expectations weren't realistic. You started a "told you so" thread, but your tell was wrong. I don't think you'd have gotten as much grief about a 4-8 prediction if you hadn't put the "told you so" framework around it.

As a point of comparison, there are plenty of people saying they expect 7-5 this coming season (2015), which is pretty low-end compared to most, and they're not getting grief. Disagreement, sure, that's part of being in forums, but not grief.

If you come in looking for conflict, you usually find it. Maybe make your posts with a more congenial tone? You might be more pleased with the responses. :good!:
