Ukraine Protests

On a related note, it amazes me how ignorant many foreigners are of the American media. It's not something I would expect the average Joe and Jane Foreigner to naturally grasp, but if you're going to open your mouth about it, at least know what you're talking about so that you don't sound like a moron. CNN American propaganda? WTF!

I forget exactly who it was (although I think it may have been Schindler), but he said a year or two ago that Russians (and others with that worldview) often project their own society's operational structure onto America's. Because Russian media is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Kremlin, they automatically assume that American media is nothing but a mouthpiece for the White House or the Pentagon.

CNN American propaganda. Jesus.

What kind of ratings does RT get? Much worse than CNN's terrible ratings, I suspect.

Well as far as ratings go, that doesn't really tell the whole story. There are not that many people that are enlightened in the USA. Most Muricans' are just dumb sheep that follow whatever mainstream news organization that pulls for either the Democrats or Republicans. Most are not enlightened enough to realize that neither party serves this country's best interest.

But if these same dumb sheep Americans were simlply watching RT, then they would be enlightened. Makes sense.

The above link said that RT is a threat because of its influence. A TV channel can't be influential unless someone is watching it ===> ratings.

I've tried and tried to understand what their exact point is, but I still just don't get it.

As far as I can glean, it goes something like this:

1. American media is inherently biased and serves propaganda purposes of the American govt.

2. Therefore, we should only trust Russian govt. news sources.

That's pretty much all I ever get out of it.

As I suspected. Russians used the Victory Day celebrations to move a lot of armor around and put it into place.

Things are getting ready to go again. I'd say probably within the next couple of weeks. Within the next month at the latest.

New Putin Invasion Coming This Summer - The Daily Beast

I wonder how the Russian media will spin the renewal of violence in Ukraine this time. I'm sure they'll think of something though. How clever, however, is another question.

The plotting is underway in Moscow.

On a related note, it still kills me to hear people say that her "Ef the EU" comment and phone recording of her talking about who the US would like to see come to power in Ukraine in the inevitable fall of the ultra-corrupt Yany regime is proof of a CIA coup.

Forget about actual criminal juries, you'd be dismissed from an elementary school mock jury for believing that's proof deserving of conviction and sentencing.

Remind me who the decadent country is again?

This is sick stuff:

Nobody in the Kremlin spoke against Kadyrov’s blessed wedding. Pavel Astakhov, President Putin’s ombudsman for children’s rights, supported Kadyrov ‘s men in marrying younger women; in an interview earlier this week, the official said that “sexual maturity happens earlier” in the Caucasus. “Let’s not be hypocrites,” Astakhov said. “There are places where women are already shriveled at age 27, and by our standards they look like they’re 50. And, in general, the Russian constitution forbids interference in citizens’ personal lives,” Astakhov concluded.

A Forced Marriage Exposes Putin

What a load of horse manure.

It seems that Russians' seeming eternal submission to strong authority has made it go sick in the head under Putin.

I hope, for their sakes, it will get better after he's gone, but I just can't help shaking the thinking that what comes after him will actually be worse.

Oh, and as I've said before, expect a Third Chechen War in another decade or two, if not sooner.

Previously unreleased footage of this past Victory Day parade from Moscow. You can see Putin in the first minute.

Sorry, it's been a day of flourishing for me.

So Hitchens basically called this (not specifically) six years ago after the invasion of Georgia.

Apparently in some NPR commentary even earlier he said that this kind of development in Russia could even lead to interference in Ukraine, if in fact it wasn't already happening.

You know. As I was posting my previous post at about the same time you just posted, I thought about Louder and him not posting lately. Hope all is well.

In Europe. Swear I said this somewhere in the politics forum. ****ty internet connection and busy traveling. Reading stuff as I can. Still lmao at pacers articles, really wish I could go through them but on the mobile. Disappointed you guys aren't over 12,000

Unfortunately for him he did not live to see his prediction play out.

Oh? You can be our on-the-ground correspondent in Donbass. Monitor the ceasefire zone. We can't trust the MSM.

As I've stated before, if we're going to all play conspiracy theorists like one half of this thread's contributors do, given the information we actually have (beyond an "Ef the EU") and the developments since, it's far more likely that Russia was behind the events we've witnessed in Ukraine over the last couple years than any other nation or group. They stood to gain (and indeed have gained) far more from it than any other entity.

That being said, I think it was a fairly organic deposition with both sides (the West and Russia) trying to sway matters in their favor but without really getting involved until after Yany killed 100 of his countrymen and fled to Russia in the middle of the night. Then, much more direct involvement by outsider parties, particularly Russia, occurred.

And Louder is doing his best to make us proud. He probably won't admit to it, but I think he's gone to Moscow to help Victoria and Dizzy out.

I love it how people disregard and make fun of articles they don't read.

The idea that America and Freedom are synonymous is ingrained into most of Americans minds. This very idea keeps people like yourself from being able to subject your mind to anything contrary, much less, to be a critical thinker. Keep going with the flow and dismissing everything as conspiracy....that's exactly what your govt wants and works so hard at.

And yeah....to destabilize a country that's leadership was already pro-Russian? Had given the finger to the EU? Makes sense Putin would do that..
