War on Drugs + War on Poverty = War on the poor

That's not feasible, fair, constitutional or smart.

Yeah, he should just surrender his life and property to the state right? In most cases under the current system the actual victim as well as their family (in case of death) sees 0 restitution. It all goes to fund the state.

The entire discussion is silly when you boil it down because of the human condition. You HAVE to have everybody on board with the benefits and penalties. Personal responsibility MUST override all, and it never will. If a drunk driver kills my wife, he better run and hide for the rest of his miserable pathetic life because he will meet the business end of a shotgun on a dark night.

All because selfishness overrides responsibility. No amount of legalization/decriminalization of mind altering substances will change that. Ever.

Not really....just have a different viewpoint. Does it make you a bad person? No. Ive just seen too much stuff ruined because of it.

You're no better than a liberal if you support outlawing products simply because you have had or witnessed bad things happen.

So? Letting the victims decide punishment isn't justice either.

What about a speeder, guy runs a red light, someone fiddling with their radio?

Delighted to hear that. My Japanese friend won't dress up as other guy. He's afraid he will lose face.

Hello?

*tap, tap*

is this thing on?

i said...He's afraid he would lose face.

Call me whatever you want. Just my viewpoint.

Those type of viewpoints are what keeps this country divided and hurts fiscal conservatives. Worse than liberals in my viewpoint.

Because I am against a substance that changes someones mentation?

Perhaps letting them set the penalty if convicted would suit you better?

No. They should have a say in front of the judge and maybe if advocating for the max sentence by law or a lesser one their opinion be considered but that's it.

We are supposed to be a country of laws not run by emotion. Some of our biggest problems is due to emotion playing a role in our laws.
