I said it before, I'll say it again. There were six officers on that transport. I flat guarantee someone will flip. The truth will come out.

If he died due to a freak accident it wouldn't matter, the only thing that is going to satisfy the masses is six full blown convictions.

Just giving you a hard time. I've never stepped foot in one and refuse to do so. Occasionally my wife slips in one and then she gets my lecture.

I've recently been presented the opportunity to relocate to the Panhandle. So looking forward to be being back in the state and wearing shorts more often than not.

I'll say from an LE standpoint, they are already guilty for not making sure he was properly strapped in for transport. I don't buy this "they'll get too close to him" nonsense. If he bites them? Tase the hell out of him. It obviously would make the anti-cop folks on here screech, but he'd still be alive.

Call me old school, but once a person is in your custody, you are responsible for their health and safety. And that's something you don't violate. And that includes them harming themselves. If he was beating himself against the walls, they should have stopped immediately and restrained him further. And gotten medical as soon as he asked. Because even if he is lying, it still covers them legally.

Sorry, but this is my opinion. They deserve their day in court obviously, but they violated basic safety protocols from what I've seen so far.

It looked like he could not sit in the seat properly to be fastened in because of his injury, so they didn't want to force in him.

There will be some kind of conviction. It will not satisfy the masses. And... If I'm a defendant I get a change of venue or I waive the jury trial and request a bench trial. Hell, maybe both.

I'm no lawyer but I have taken a law class or two and belittled LG so here is my take..manslaughter would have been the way to go. 2nd degree murder might be a stretch to prove. This was my thought with the Zimmerman case. Could have nailed that taco with a manslaughter charge.

yes, criminally negligent homicide would more closely fit the yarn the DA attempted to spin today. I have not kept up with the entire thread since her announcement, but I can honestly say that I have never seen a rush to judgement like this. It reeks of a spray and pray method of prosecution with an obvious attempt to appease the un-appeaseable.. Charging them all with the death only makes her case weaker, imo.

Let's pretend I'm the leader of a gang. Me and 5 of my gang buddies kidnap somebody. While in our possession, the person dies (we can even pretend it was an accident). A week later we all get caught.

Should they just charge me, since I'm the leader, and let everybody else go?

I think one of the more common assertions is that lesser offenses can often lead to evidence of much greater criminal activity. Probably the most famous is Berkowitz and a parking ticket.

Anyway, there's no dearth of examples where "small" arrests turned into much bigger arrests. As for that being a justification? I don't know.

I would rather see one guilty man walk than 10 innocent men have their rights violated or their lives taken.

How about if he was on his feet banging his head against a front wall of the van box( but not breaking his neck), and the vehicle started off from being stopped, and he lost his balance, and was thrown from the front of the van to the back , and basically he ran(trying to regain his balance), and slammed his head into the bolt on the door?

Either that or black women tend to choose deaadbeats to procreate with. Its ok and politically correct to blame the men for their part in this, but placing the same blame and responsibilty on the women is like touchcing the 3 rd rail. It takes 2 to tango. 2 people made a poor decision. however, the man is the only one (generally) threatened with fines and loss of freedom. The women, on the otherhand are given Section 8 housing, food stamps, utility subsidies and all kinds of other wonderful cash and prizes for simply opening their legs. They are the only ones that have a financial incentive to keep making poor decisions and bringing new souls into the world where the biological father is optional or not desireable.
