if Olynyk got a suspension then JR Smiths punk ass should have gotten 6-7 games just like Ron Artest when he elbowed Harden. What JR did was despicable. Knocked a guy out, thats why his leg buckled. Hes been suspended about 6 times in his career and twice in the post season. A 2 gamer is a joke IMO. The league office waited til they saw Love was gonna be done and didnt come down on JR Smith hard at all. They cant have their precious Cavs get eliminated. Would hurt the ratings too much. Theres a reason JRs suspension news broke about 90 minutes after they announced Love had a torn labrum.

Ashlee is doing better this morning, now that she's back on the ventilator. One thing that's puzzling however, is that she's a little tachycardic (her heart rate is high). Other than that, her echo cardiogram shows slight improvement from her last, with her left ventricle completely open (with help from the medication she's on) and her right ventricle still slightly depressed but open more than her last echo.

I told her last night that yesterday would be her last bad day. I can't explain why I feel that way but I do. I think a little divine comfort intervening.

Thank you all for allowing me to vent on here. It's catharsis at its best.

And SKV, if you see this, I'm praying for your son and family. If you'd like to bounce some questions off me or you just want to talk to someone in virtually the same situation, let me know. I check on here throughout the day. Praying all goes well...

I hadn't seen the replay until just now. But, I am not sure that you can say that there was an intent to injure. But for the loose ball and the two locked up for position, it wouldn't have happened, and it's just a reaction to jostle for position. It's not like a swinging elbow at a face.

But, the NBA is a joke with this type of punishment either way. Kind of like when they rescinded Westbrook's technical when OKC was playing for a playoff spot.

OB79 and SKV, you men are on my hearts today and I will continue to pray for you. Feel free to come on here to release so you can be strong for your families. I'll never forget reading up on AK's pending commitment as a getaway from it all last summer. Now I look at my sweet baby girl and it's all a distant memory. It will be the same for you as well soon enough.

@RussHoops: Per a source with knowledge of his recruitment, Lamonte Turner will reclassify to 2015 and commit to Alabama today @TideSports

Going to miss all of Spring which is what he is the most upset about.

Haven't heard if he's had surgery yet.

Should be back this summer.


As for the kid, going to be tried as an adult. Was not read his Miranda rights when arrested so...

I'm not one to take up for the NBA very often when it comes to disciplinary matters, but I actually think they got that one right. Olynyk's play looked like retaliation to me - Love did the same thing to him during the rebounding action, so when they were trying to untangle Olynyk gave him a "How do you like it?" yank. I wouldn't call it intent to injure, and Olynyk has no history of that kind of behavior. But I do think it was excessive force during a non-basketball play and consistent with the suspension he got.

Now the other stuff from that game, I have a harder time justifying. JR Smith's shot to Crowder was more analogous to Artest's blow to Harden than it was any two-game incident I can recall. I think the refs just did a very poor job of controlling that game in general.

Re failure to read Miranda, that won't matter unless he gave a confession to police after he was in custody. Didn't this assault happen in a full classroom? If so, any statements he made after probably won't be necessary.

Unless he has a self-defense argument, he's likely to be convicted if they want it.
