What did you have for dinner?

Try the Shrimp Dock on Kingston Pike. Prior to moving down here, we would always get seafood from there and it was tremendous. Wife lived on the shrimp and crab bisque and crawfish etouffee when she was pregnant.

I pass by there everyday and have never tried it. You're the second person to give it good reviews I've heard recently.

It's been five years since we've been home; so I don't know if the quality went down or not but I find it hard to believe that the family would allow that to happen. We will be stopping by there prior to whipping the snot out of South Carolina to pick up our tailgate trimmings!

Anyone know a restaurant in Knoxville that has good crab or lobster bisque? I've been craving a bowl for some reason and I can't recall where I've eaten it before.

I'd like to know as well.. It's usually one of the first things I seek out when I go to the beach, but don't know of any around here.

Connor's makes an excellent lobster bisque. Bravo's lobster bisque is also pretty darn good.

Copper cellar has the best lobster bisque

I haven't been to Copper Cellar in a very long time and I don't think I ever tried the crab bisque but I'd imagine it's a good vote since they also own Chesapeake's.

I've picked up seafood from there before, but not bisque. I'll check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

You know, it may be Connor's that I'm thinking of that has the lobster bisque I like so much. You're the man Coug!

We had an early dinner (3:45ish) at Olive Garden because I had a gift card. I'm not a big fan of OG. I don't know how they stay so busy. After the fiasco today, won't be going back.

I don't get it either, it is not good food. Kevin won a gift card there, joy! I think we will use it at Texas roadhouse though. What was the fiasco.

We got seated immediately, but sat there a good ten minutes before anybody ever came to our table. Never got the appetizer we ordered. They brought out the wrong entree for hubby. And gave him a refill of "cherry coke" (he's never ordered a cherry coke anywhere, lol).

I'll admit to liking Olive Garden. They have great salad. The fried lasagna app is really good. And the braised beef and tortellini is amazing.

But I normally have more than one double shot of knob creek to go with all of this. So that may adversely affect my decision making.

OG isn't much different than any other franchise restaurant you go to. The good is all generic unless they are lucky enough to have a great chef and wait staff is what it is.

Do you have a fazolies (maybe spelled wrong) Italian restaurant near your part of ky? They're better to me than OG.

Amazing sushi at Nama last night.

Spurge meal at mom's today: baked pork tenderloin, potatoes, pintos, okra, cole slaw, and cornbread.

I like both OG and Carrabba's. I guess the staff must have just sucked at the one you went to. I've never been there around 3:45 either but that really shouldn't matter, again I'd say staff issues. Carrabba's has a fabulous Marsala sauce to go on both their steak and the chicken and the Cavatappi is great with the slightest hint of spiciness to it. The OG we usually go to is Turkey Creek. I've eaten at Hamilton Place OG several times and never had a bad meal there.

I LOVE Carrabba's calamari and ricardo sauce! I prefer them over OG any day. Food in general is just personal preference, imo. I like Provino's over both of those, and it's a chain Italian place too. (And we were at the OG at Hamilton Place, food was okay, it was just a comedy of errors. By the time the cherry on top got there, I honestly thought somebody was playing a joke on us.)

I LOVE Carrabbas! Besides the great food, they have awesome peach sangria. A new outlet mall is near us so we are crossing our fingers for one since they are out of the way! So far all that has come is bojangles, McDonalds and currently being built zaxbys.

As an italian I can honestly say Olive Garden is HORRIBLE. I've tried their food a couple times because friends have wanted to go and the food sucked each time. The salad and breadsticks were ok, but it's really hard to mess a salad up. Their alfredo sauce tastes worst than out of a can and their chicken parm was pretty bad too.
The only Italian chain I actually like happens to be Carrabeas. I love their bread. Their chicken parm is good and I like their alfredo as well. When I get the alfredo I'll get it with chicken prosciutto and peas. My friends always get the chicken bryan and say how delicious it is. I've never had it though.
