Antartica Melting Fast

And by the way, this whole post string is about you trying to make a stupid point. The conversation is about melting ice.

I'm still curious as to why you are so against taking those days off?
Oh, I took Good Friday off just for you BTW.

Noone has mentioned "taking days off". It's about when to make days up. And good Friday happened to work very well for most people.

I'm still waiting for you to tell me how Muslims and jews are being infringed upon by the school calendar. Are you just goin to admit how retarded your stance is?

I think the conversation was about eliminating religious holidays from the calendar, specifically Christian holidays. Not about making up a day this year. But go ahead and redirect it's something you excel at when having no stance what so ever. You asked me about my opinion, I told you. Good Friday is a federal and Christian holiday. It used to be recognized by nearly every company in the country until the pc crowd started to screech loud enough. I'm sorry if the Jewish faith feels put upon by Good Friday being a holiday. IDGAF about Muslim anything. They do have some good food though. Ate Lebanese last night, was awesome. The only thing retarded here is you trying to convince the board that your opinion is the only way to see things. Notoriety by screeching is still notoriety I guess, you and LG seem to have cornered the liberal side of things.

Weak bro... Go full retard or go home, here's how to properly 'agendize' something.

Boston Snow a liberal conspiracy? Here, let Fox n' Skanks help you decide. Also, this is clearly more proof that Jesus is a lib. Or is it? I'm confused.

Fox News host Andrea Tantaros: Snow days are a liberal plot to strip schools of religious holidays

So why do you think they plan to take 3 holidays out that ALL happen to be religious? Why not go longer or start earlier?

Fail

No, just trying to get the thread back on topic. Tired of listening to your screeching about Good Friday. I tired of your whining airman.

If my stance were as retarded as yours (that snow days infringe on christian rights) I would wanna get back on topic too.

So, in this instance, those kids whose parents kept them out of school on those three days for religious reasons shouldn't be allowed to make up the work?

Who said that?

Oh, I'm just drawing the same conclusions you are. I said don't use Religious holidays to make up snow days (2 Jewish and one Christian), make them up some other time.....Saturdays or go into summer. You assumed I was saying it infringed on Christian rights. I made an inference from your statements about that being retarded. What is your comment to my statement? Would you allow them to make up the class work or not?

Edit: BTW, you are in to step 2 of your typical argument MO. You attempted to turn a conversation about what some would label "religious persecution" into a religious rights argument.....that's your typical Step 1, redirect. You are now starting into the play ignorant/draw me a picture act.....that's your typical Step 2. I expect us to debate this for a couple of posts and then you will go into the denial change topic phase......that's your typical Step 3.

I've posted this in another thread, it's amazing how well you follow it.

So you would infringe on a large numbers of people's religious beliefs to keep you from starting school 2 or 3 days earlier. Actually, your opinion really doesn't count as a state employee. The public should just tell you when to work.

Did BOT hack your account? How can anyone be this dumb? You clearly said it infringed upon Christian Rights

It's also hilarious that you accuse me of "ignorance", when this is honestly the second time you've been wrong about the context of the argument (1. claiming it wasn't about make-up days, 2 claiming that you never used the word "infringe" to describe what you perceived was happening to Christians).

If you want to include your ignorant comment that teachers get "paid vacations" over the summer, we could call this your 3rd (teachers are only paid 10 months out of the year).

Two teachers in my family. TN and AL. Get paid 12 months a year. You are paid an annual salary for 10 months of work. Whether you take it in 12 months or 10 makes no difference. But hey, I don't want to bother one of your intelligence with higher math.

Do you draw unemployment for 2 months a year?

And yes, I guess if you want to get right down to it, requiring someone that is devote to attend school on a religious holiday would be infringing on their rights if they so choose to make it that. In reality, the only "Christian" holiday that I know of is Good Friday. Used to be Christmas but that went secular so long ago that I can't recall it being considered a religious holiday by anyone but Christians. Would you call Christmas a religious holiday?

And yes, I was wrong about it being makeup days, it was. There is another thread where a school was trying to remove religious holidays because a muslim was complaining.

It makes a huge difference when you try to claim it's a "paid vacation". Teachers get paid to work 10 months. Yes, they can have that money divided up to cover the summer months. But they are not being paid for those months. So it is not a paid vacation as you tried to claim.

So: you are employed yearly (you can't draw unemployment during the summer), you work 10 months give or take a few days, you make a salary that you choose to take in 10 months rather than 12. By definition you get a 2 month paid vacation. I don't care how you slice it. If it were otherwise you could draw unemployment every year for two months. Be careful with slinging the word ignorant around, people may know more than the kiddy table expects them to.

summer vacation is not paid. Teachers are considered 10 month employees (some exceptions, like head football coach can be 11 or 12 months). We are paid for half of August through the first half of June. We do not actually earn money over the summer. Yes, you can have your money held for you and distributed over the summer, but that doesn't mean you are getting paid for those months.

Not being able to file unemployment is irrelevant. The question at hand isn't employeement, it's pay. I could have taken an unpaid vacation when I worked at KFC in HS for up to two weeks. That didn't mean I was unemployed.

Swing and a miss. A 10 month employee would be able draw UE for 6 weeks of the 8, you can't. I get 4 weeks vaca a year. Oh wait, I am a 48 week employee but choose to get paid 26 times. Do you realize how foolish what you are trying to sell sounds? I wish they would pay me one time a year.

There's nothing foolish about it. Teachers are 10 month employees. Being on a non paid vacation is not the same as being unemployed. I'm sorry you can't comprehend that.
