The entire reason we overthrew their government the first time was because they attempted to nationalize their oil industry. If they didn't have oil, american wouldn't give two ****s about this.

Anti Semite remark is discriminatory and racist

That remark was in no way antisemetic, discriminatory, or racist. The media is largely controlled by jewish men, is it not? That's a very simple fact. So there's a clear agenda in their reporting on Iran.

Although I modified his statement, he has a point. It's this:

America is actively involved in the Middle East primarily because of economic purposes (i.e., they have oil). Why the hell else would we be involved in that **** hole? Freedom? Maybe, but not likely.

Now, imagine you're a Saudi, or an Iraqi, or a Syrian, or an Iranian, etc., and you see some outsider coming into either your country or what you consider your "domain." You would probably react with skepticism at the least and perhaps even violence in the most extreme. Hell, many Americans get upset when signs in our country are printed in English and Spanish (forget about actual foreign influence, like the govt. of Mexico coming in and trying to sway our politics/economy/etc.)

And then, after considering this, consider that mouthbreathers in that part of the world (due to lack of decent education) make our mouthbreathers look like a bunch of Steve Jobs.

And there you have it. That and the fact many of them (enough of them) still hate us because we're not Muslims.

The 50s, that is when the overthrow Constantinople right? What did we do to deserve that one?

Excuses excuses.

I'm really not sure what you just said. Constantinople was overthrown in the 20s, isn't a part of Iran, nor was the U.S. involved to my knowledge

Dude. Wahhabism wasn't just something that sounds like it ought to have been a porn genre.

We have pockets of that within the U.S. from the nation of Islam and christian hate groups also. I thought you were attempting to claim this was a government platform of theirs.

It was done in by Muslims in 1453. Part of the dreams of the true Muslims.

And it has nothing to do with the U.S. or Iran. Neither country has any ambitions of invading Turkey.

No, just Muslims taking down the symbol of the western Christian world. Nothing to do with this conversation at all.

Sounds like you're allowing your own religious bias from allowing you to look at this situation without bias.

I think this is an excellent post, prof.

Radical Islam and US Interventions are the reason why they hate us. And it's not even "Radical Islam" as much as it is the nature of Islam, itself.

They would hate us even if we didn't intervene, but it would be far more subdued. We DO prevent their country from having nuclear weapons for their own defense AND also add-on crippling economic sanctions which wreck the lives of their citizens, too.

Iran's biggest enemy is Israel, who has nuclear weapons. With all the talk of pre-emptive Israeli attacks on Iran, who is really more likely to use nuclear weapons on the other? Why does Israel have the right to nuclear weapons for defense from Iran, but Iran does not have the same right for defense from Israel?

I'm pro-Israel and believe we should back them in any military confrontation where they are defending themselves. I'm simply trying to look at the issue from an unbiased perspective.

Yes, this is true. Everyone knows private and home schools avoid indoctrination.

Not saying they don't, but at least you know what you're signing up for. Very distinct differences in the two prof.

We didn't start the fire.

We overthrew their government the first time, which lead to the second coup that established their current government. It is ultimately our fault. They had a democracy prior to our intervention. But their democracy didn't want to let us in on their oil.
