what if the whole time so many Vol fans have been crying for inovation to the offense, which is really code for the spread or the option depending on who you talk to, what if these guys have and are recruiting players who can run this spread threat, or some blend of it?

It would have been successful in the Outback if GJ just pitched it out to Foster on that one third down play at the goal line. what if right?

I don't think Fulmer is that clever, but the recruitment of Randall Cobb is pretty interesting.

At the same time, what if this huge cry for new coaching blood and an "unpredictable" and "modern" offense ends up the same way Nebraska did with Solich and Callahan?

That's different. Nebraska tore up their entire program and tried to start over from scratch. They totally distanced themselves from their identity and their traditions. We're talking about taking the program and giving it a tune-up, not destroying it and starting over.

It is not beyond the realm of possibility, but it is unlikely. I personally think that the loss of the "Blackshirt" mentallity has been the real downfall of the program.

Florida managed to pull it off, and I think that Auburn will be successful as well, because they both made the right hire at the right time. Cut is gone...now is the right time for UT.

Once again, I believe that Fulmer has already stated that the offense will change next year. I would expect with more moble QB's he will run more "spread" type plays. I'm sure that they are already in the mammoth 800 play Tennessee playbook so basically Fulmer would be just calling a different set of plays for the personnel that he has.

That's been my impression for quite a while now.....I'm getting eager to see an OC hired soon.
