I'm not one to throw around the "heard from a guy who heard from a guy..." but I have a hunch he's going. Just local talk

the kid from maryland declared as well

maualuga will go bank on it

i dont see this as a very deep draft but mayo will not be a first round pick

Regardless of what he decides....Mayo is an absolute beast and I am glad to have had the pleasure of watching him play at UT!!

His report probably says 1-2 round if he does all the drills at the combine and runs a 4.4/4.5 he will be a first round and play weak side LB I wouldn't mind seeing him in Tampa Brooks is getting up there in age

Lauranitis and Malalauga are both ILB's. Mayo is an OLB. That hurts the chances of him coming back.

i posted several weeks ago that he was going to go. I still believe that he will not be drafted until the second round. But, he will go for that.

he's gone and I dont blame him one bit. I wish him all the success in the world. He was a monster for us and I hate to see him go, but if I understand corrrectly he's already graduated, so more power to him.

I would love for him to stay, I'm sure the odds are against us. If he indeed does leave, I wish him all the best in the NFL.

Im dont really get into he said she said but I talked to a friend who knows his brother and says he is gone. Good luck to him!!!

Mayo is a manchild but he is the 3rd LB taken at best!! Road Warrior will be first and Connor (or is it O'Connor) will be next.

He has already graduated and has had injury problems in the past so I think that he is gone.

Of course now a days players that are projected in the first three rounds can buy a several million dollar insurance policy so that if they are severily injured in college during their senior year they will still get paid alot of money.

I guess that we can pray that Mayo want's his masters and an SEC championship.................

Not sure if this has been posted or talked about much. I heard Doug Matthews a few minutes ago on 104.5 the Zone and he said that it is slim to none. I have also heard is an automatic 1st rounder. Where did that come from? He never gets any love from the media outside of Tennessee.

We need this guy if we have a legitimate shot a being a real good team. Thoughts?

I think that Mayo will leave, but we have plenty to replace him. Wilson will be a beast in the middle.

Yeah but Davis and McKenzie are unproven. Myers-White hasnt lived up to his hype. Maybe Chief can get these guys to play for him but i would feel much better if Mayo came back.

I'm not saying we are NC material but imagine if Al Wilson would have left before the '98 season. No championship.

Come back Mayo and be a legend on Rocky Top.

i think the fact he has waited this long to announce means he is giving some real thought to coming back...that being said I think he'll will leave

I think it's more of him waiting to see which other LBs declare for the draft.

Well if Hefney got a 1st round projections and Foster got a 2nd round projection - Mayo is a top 10 pick for sure.:wink2:

I highly doubt Hefney got any 1st round projections after last year. He's 5'9 at best. He would have RAN from Gibbs Hall to McGhee Tyson Airport, as soon as he learned the news.
