Snowboarding/Skiing/Trips/and all things snowsports thread

I got a helicopter ride out of Honeycomb Canyon at Solitude once. I don't recommend that.

The boys and I

It looks empty!!! Man, I moved to South Florida so I'm missing all this snow. I wish I could have hit Snowshoe one more time. They just got 3' of snow in the past 2 weeks!!! 3 FEET!!! Unreal, but the Sunshine down here has been awesome. We had the coldest temps in 5 years down here, it got to 38*. Such a contrast from good ole East Tennessee.

I hear you. I did my residency in Tampa/St Pete and swore that first winter that I was never leaving. Golf and swimming in February is nice. Those summers got long, though, and I missed the hills and people of Tennessee. We still love to visit friends in the Sunshine State!

Learned to surf yet? Good alternative to snowboarding.. Except for the getting stung by jelly fish part...

No jellyfish in the lake. Friends with a Supra, Moomba, and Mastercraft = Surfin' Tennessee!

haven't learned to surf yet. but I have photographed my brother in law & his buddies surfing. got some decent stuff, cant wait to do it again.

We will be here in SFla til end of June, then we are moving. (Yes we will be here for part of the summer heat!!) probably to Michigan, close to my family for a few months. Yes, we want to go out West for a few months. I would love to go to Jackson Hole (my #1 choice) but they require an additional nurse license, not part of compact states nurse agreement. a simple fix just more time & $$$. Good chance we are there next year for skiing.

Has anybody hit the slopes yet this year??

We are planning a trip to Killington, VT next weekend. The resort looks awesome. Lift tixs are pricey. 60/69 trails are open.

Just got back from two weeks in Colorado and New Mexico. Got a foot of fresh snow in NM and three feet at Snowmass. Headed to Telluride next Saturday. Maybe one more in March.

sweet!!! where did you go in NM? Taos??

we looked into moving to Roswell. decided to go East instead, mostly because there were no jobs available at that time.

Yeah, TSV is where I go. I loved there for almost three years. It's was fantastic

We skied Killington, VT today. Place is HUGE!! Very easy to get lost, especially if you separated from your party. They have 56 trails open & we barely scratched the surface. Going again tom!! I post some pics once I get home.

It snowed all day on me here in Telluride. 5 inches last night and a few more to add to today. It was spectacular

It was awesome. We are trying to go back. I'm still amazed at the size of the resort.

this is just a small portion of the resort.

Just one of the many great runs here at Telluride

No, but I think I finally have the wife convinced that we HAVE to go. There are so many great options out there!!!

Man it's worth it and it's actually the same cash as east coast. Yesterday it was sunny and 45, I was in a T shirt and light coat. Tuesday it snowed 8 inches total. So you get the best of both days. Also, you can't beat the vertical out here and the length of the runs. I'll be more than happy to help you find a place/advice if you want.
