Has anyone ever rented a boat to a game?

I would call Volunteer Landing and Louisville Landing about rental house boats. I have done Vol Navy 2-3 times a season for years and it is something to do once in your life and more if you can! We will be docking for the OK game Friday afternoon till Sunday!

I remember a houseboat being parked behind us last year at one game, I think it was the Utah State game, that was rented. The marina brought it up, parked it and had it set up for them. Not sure about the cost.

I would stay away from Ft Loudon Marina. That's where I keep my boat and it is almost exactly 50 nautical miles to the Stadium by river and in my boat (34' Sea Ray Sundancer) we use about 225 gallons of gas on the round trip total. You will need at least that size boat or larger for a party of your size and if you plan to spend the night which I recommend (more fun after the game than any other time imo) you will need a houseboat. Great marina and people at FT Loudon just not the best place to rent a boat for Vol Navy imo. A Pontoon from Ft Loudon to the stadium would be a rough ride with all the 50' boats throwing 5 and 6 foot+ wakes.

You rang?

LOL you can be that guy on my boat DH, it will salvage me from being that guy. But its my boat so I will get as crazy as I want lol.

We made 1200 Jello Shots for the 12 Florida game and got a ticket for littering because the people in the houseboats behind our line of cruisers couldn't catch haha.

Here's another question to y'all. If I were to take my jetski out would there be alot of opportunity for jumping wakes of the large boats or is it frowned upon or not really logical?

If you got somewhere between the Yacht Club and the no wake zone nearing downtown.......it's something people do. It is illegal to follow a boat too closely and that type of activity will almost certainly get you checked on gameday weekends since TWRA are all hands on deck. There are always jet skiers that will follow us at a distance and jump the wake but have seen a lot that got too close and were dangerous about it.

If you do it just catch the waves at a safe distance to the side of the big boats ballin up through there don't be tempted to get into the biggest wake in their wash not only will it piss them off it could end up in a hefty fine or worse.

Open container on a boat is treated the same as open container in a car. Boats and alcohol do not mix end of story.

You will have to charter a professional boat and captain to make it happen.

Most people treat their boat pretty much like their prized possession and for good reason. Not to mention insurance and liability.

If u wanna ride w the volnavy either buy a boat or charter a professional

I no longer partake of the Holy Water... so if VN ends up putting something together. I will be more then happy to be the designated Boater so that we are within the limits of the law.

One of our women who can organize things should maybe start a signup sheet to see who may be interested in doing this to see if we would have enough..

Decide which game.. get quote on the boat.. things like that to see if this is a feasible idea/plan.

I for one would definitely love to party with some fellow VN members. Make some cool signs and make our presence felt on an ESPN covered game. Like I said it would definitely get some TV time which would be cool.

It would also be some free advetisment for this site.

If anyone seriously decides to organize a VN game boat, I'd be in with about 10-12 people.
Would prefer Oklaahoma, Georgia, or Arkansas game.

I worked for an attorney who would take his boat (which was massive) and best I remember, he would burn $1000 worth of gas. While I'm sure it would be fun, I don't know if $1000 to $1500 would do it.

I'm sure ur talking more money....but it also holds more people.
Was hoping to charge people $100/head.
