Well I am sorry...but good grief

Don't really care about luck. Martin lost Maymon for a year because of injury.

Bottom line, results do matter. Dooley had maybe the best offense in school history with nothing to show for it. Martin inherited an inexperienced roster but talented. He finally made it pay off before he left.

My biggest issue with Martin was promoting toughness yet having thick skin while his team was grossly underperforming. The whole "out fan base against us" card some players played was, in my view, partly due to weak leadership. Reality is some fans did a dumb petition, while thousands still showed up to watch what most of the time, was mediocrity. Good leadership says "our fans are upset, and perhaps they have reason to be. Let's give them better". A HC can't let his team get so bent out of shape over fans, esp when the attendance is top 5 in the league.

Yea sure. It was luck Stokes liked him and chose us over several other available options. I guess that means anytime someone gets a recruit its just luck.

The only reason we landed him was we were the only team he was considering to have a scholarship available mid year.

I mean lucky in that Memphis didn't have a mid year scholly available to them at the time.

He had other mid year options and also could have waited till the next season. It would not have mattered if we had a scholarship or not if Martin didn't do a good job recruiting him.

Why don't you just admit, you hate Martin and it clouds your judgment and in turn you make ridiculous statements?

I don't hate Martin at all. From what I have heard and seen from his players is that he is a great man. I will always question his coaching abilities however.

Its funny how much expectations change depending on if people like the coach's personality.

I'm all in with this statement. CDT just might be the coach most vols fans think but I believe the cloud over him will prevent him from being around long enough to prove it.

That is not the debate though. Martin had flaws with scheme and strategy. Bit his players would run through a wall for him. That is half the battle. Could you say the same for Dooley? Just because Martin had flaws doesn't mean he is on Dooley's level. Martin actually achieved something.

I never got this dumb criticism. I never had a problem understanding him. I think this means I can't understand a Black guy talk. He sounded intelligent and knowledgeable in all the interviews I saw.

He is a low talker - like the Seinfield episode

You're a good lip reader...I was trying to listen to the interviews. :)

I already said that Martin is better than Dooley, like that is tough to be. What do you think DT would have done with the 3 teams CM had?
