Well I am sorry...but good grief

One is the worst ever...the other is not...pretty simple...lol...
On another note to VolsSportsFan...can you imagine if Buzz actually was given a few more years with the fact he brought in both CJ and Lofton...he probably would not have had the success Bruce did but I do not think he would be laughed at nearly as much as he is now. His style of basketball was terrible but he was actually a solid recruiter.

Not sure. I think Buzz could recruit fine, but honestly at least 2 if not 3 of his teams should have been NCAAT teams. I give him a pass on his first team, but the next 3 were all disappointing.

While Pearl was awesome, I think what he did with his first team said almost more about how bad Peterson screwed up his last year than what Pearl did with them. There's no way that club should have been a 14 win team.

Huh? You can win 4 patsy non conference football games, which means 1 conference game. 1-7 is decent?

You are off on your comparison. 19 wins in basketball gets you on the bubble in most years.

Yes, it isn't very hard to get 19 wins in the SEC.

I can't believe we have to debate this.

Martin won 19, 20, and 24. So, he is more than decent by your standard. To compare him to Dooley is just ignorant, not calling you that; just calling that argument.

oh no doubt...Buzz is bad...I am just saying if he stuck it out the 4 Lofton years...he probably takes the Vols to 2 or 3 NCAA Tournaments and is looked like more of a mediocre coach in UT history than a bad one is all...as for Wade Houston it is hard to imagine how he was easily the best African American assistant coach at Louisville and helped them to national titles and final fours and had his All American son with him and could not attract any players to make a formidable team...wow, how bad is that....if Allan stayed at home at UL, they probably have 1 or 2 more titles...funny how things work out for some and not for others in coaching circles

It's a flat out stupid comparison.

Ok Dooley is worse than Martin. Who would you say was the luckier of the two though?

Horrible coaches go 0-8 and 3-9. Decent coaches go 3-1 and 2-6.

Haha. What about 1-7 in conference? Is that decent. That is what Dooley did. Actually, his last year, Chaney got credit for the UK win.

Not decent...in any universe. Period.

What does luck have to do with anything at all? Dooley didn't suck because he had bad luck 3 years, and you can't just say Martin only won because of luck.

You're making yourself look very foolish.

Don't really care about luck. Martin lost Maymon for a year because of injury.

Bottom line, results do matter. Dooley had maybe the best offense in school history with nothing to show for it. Martin inherited an inexperienced roster but talented. He finally made it pay off before he left.

Martin recruited Moore as a PG. Enough said.

Martin got very lucky landing Stokes. That helped him tremendously.

Pearl was a last second shot away from losing to a 15 seed Wofford team as a 2 seed. See,we can do this stuff all day

We were one BS call away from beating Fla at home. He still dropped that pass. Game was in the late 90s I believe.
