Not sure if this has been posted or talked about much. I heard Doug Matthews a few minutes ago on 104.5 the Zone and he said that it is slim to none. I have also heard is an automatic 1st rounder. Where did that come from? He never gets any love from the media outside of Tennessee.

We need this guy if we have a legitimate shot a being a real good team. Thoughts?

I dont know about automatic. There are A LOT of LB's coming out this year... it's hard to say where he would stand until after the combine and the needs of the teams have been defined.

I'd say his last 4 games are a big reason he is being talked about as a first rounder. He has been a beast.

I'd say 30% chance he comes back.

The NFL doesn't find talent through the media... but I personally doubt the grading service will give him a sure bet first round place.

Unlike alot of other folks, I think he'd be a huge plus but not an irreplaceable loss.

When will he find out what his grade is?

Next year he will be irreplacable IMO.... that is unless McCoy steps up his game. If Rico doesnt step up, someone will have to surprise us all... I just dont see anyone that comes close to Mayo in our LB corps except McCoy.

Laurainitis and maulauga are still undecided. The only other 2 1st round LB locks are Connor and Rivers. Highsmith has a shot, but not a lock. Mayo would likely be a #1 if both Lauri and Maul stay in school.

Maulauga's a beast... after the game he had the other night... he's a lock. Laurainitis... if he wins Monday... what's left for him?

I'll raise you 15 and say there is a 15% chance he comes backk. :)

I really do believe he's gone.

Lauranitis needs to bring back the "Road Warriors"

His old man was a beast!

if he really is projected to go in the first round, then i think he goes, if he projects to the second i believe he will stay and pray he doesn't get hurt.

He will be a 1st/2nd round guy if Lauranitus comes out (depending on combines and developing man crushes by GMs). He is first round almost for sure if Laury stays. I am guessing he is waiting on that.

I agree that he is gone if he is going in the first round. But I dont think he is too terribly concerned with the injury bug. He had a great quote when talking about. He said he is not worried about that because he is smart and works hard at everything he does so he knows he will be successful in whatever he chooses to do in life, even if its not playing in the NFL. Sounds like he has a great head on his shoulders.

This is the first time he has been healthy enough to play the entire season. He will get a 30-45 pick grade and will leave. For a player that plays as physical as him, the chances of him not getting hurt and being able to go to the combine, physically ready, outweigh any risks he slips in the draft.

0.05% chance he returns

Lauranitus does not impress me as much as all 3 USC linebackers. Lauranitus seems to get lost too much. AJ Hawk had all those OSU accolades and has not lived up to the hype. He is not even the best linebacker on his team.

So there's a chance
