CBJ only takes 1 QB in 2016, and that one is Kendall. With a class size of only 20 or so, there just isn't room for 2. Kendall's recruitment will continue to be a challenge, but I think he sticks.
The coaches have stayed they recruit guys who arent afraid of competition, so if Kendall shows signs that he is he will be asked to look around.
In a recent article Azzanni stated that the current class QBs never even asked about one another, but we're more anxious to help the program itself. If Austin doesn't fall in line he may very we'll be a wildcat. You don't let a talent like Odin go out of state and come back to hurt you, so I could see them taking him as a project and a guy like Gaurantanamodingus as "the guy."
Who knows, Odin may show out this year and we all know it's too early in the game to know where these kids will be at half way through their seasons. Stuff happens, things change.
If Kendall is concerned with being "THE ONLY GUY" in this class I dont see how he stays committed, especially with other QBs being so vocal that they are actively being recruited as well.
I see zero need for a second QB in this class. Personally, since we were willing to take Kendall's commitment already, and unless DeBord just truly believes Kendall is not a fit, I believe that he is our guy and we shouldn't mess around with other prospects.
I don't think DeBord will have an effect on Kendall at all. The offense will be much the same as what Austin saw in 2014. Jones added late and JJ lined up at QB now IMO plays more of a factor. Offering other 2016 QBs obviously won't help either.
Would it be wrong for him to be concerned with being "the only guy" in 2016 if he was told by the staff he would be the only guy?
Good lesson in reality for the young man...he ever works for a company that is seeking his employment, they're not risking their whole business model to make him feel valuable...he takes an offer from a competitor and he'll find employees equally sought after providing competition...life is mean and real. FWIW IMO UTC MTSU PPO

A lesson? You think Butch just straight up lying to recruits is the way to go? Interesting take.
Nothing's straight up...I seriously believe that if Kendall sticks with us, he'll be the only QB taken next year, but the days of good ole Johnny University giving a hearty handshake to State U's HC and it being as solid as oak, are long gone my old naive wistful good-hearted naive trusting naive moral beyond words naive friend...you bank your fortunes on the whims of an easily influenced teenager, and don't continue to recruit quality at that position, then if there is a flip, you have scant relationships with any other prospect and end up bare in that class...thus you're not taking care of your program...but maybe your most moral fans will be proud...leaving the ridicule and pity for the less inspired. Imo a lot of commitments are very much like the ole "handshake" recruiting. You know, all those kids who commit, don't take visits and never even consider other schools? Happens all the time. Trust, honesty, integrity, and moral recruiting can very much lead to more of that. Its not a thing of the past at all.
Name a program in the championship picture that goes all in on one player ...that has no offers to others at the position...Oregon felt good with Blake Barnett...he'll be real good at Bama. Reality is ugly but real...Riley Lovingood committed and stuck...never wavered. Derek Barnett took visits...every kid is different, but somehow it's easier holding on to the Lovingoods than it is to the kids that make a program good or great. I don't fault you for seeking this shangri-la where a coach can sit and wait until NSD to fill his program's needs...and everyone is happy and content...I'm glad Butch takes care of the program and tries to be as honorable as possible ...but does his job first...your way works...at Duke and Division III programs...Tennessee deserves better...JMO FWIW etc etc etc
