It set up Putin's answer that just made Putin look beautiful. Asking him something tougher like why not close the border? Or why did he not abide by Minsk I? Or does he categorically deny allowing forces to flow into Ukraine? Please. Even anything you see on the interview from the Russian media says Putin 'crushes' BBC reporter. These end of year press conferences are set up for Putin to boost himself and his narcissism. Here's a good article talking about how long these always are. These are glorified propaganda speeches that always take hours.

You could have just left it at the bolded part. As long as it comes from your guy's state owned media it must be fact right? And any other source not quoting directly from the Kremlin is all lies and Western propaganda.

If you are referring to the question about me being Russian, no. I'm just a black guy from Tennessee with an open mind and some common sense.

To Pacer's credit, he at least did say he would like to have Crimea and Southern Russia when I asked him what part or parts of Russia he'd like to carve up.

There's still hope for him yet.

The village of Artemovsk was just shelled by the separatists. Hit a kindergarten, a 7 year child was killed along with more injured.

Since it's not getting any attention in the other thread, I thought I'd ask my friends in the Ukraine thread. Do any of you think our advisers in al-Assad airbase are in serious danger since ISIS just took al Baghdadi? I'm worried about another Benghazi on a much larger scale. Surely they planned contingencies for something like this.

No I don't think ALL were oblivious. I know what happened when the nazis took over and how they installed their ideoloy. But for the common citizen and the common soldier east, west, Africa fronts did not know of the holocaust.

War is hell and , yes, atrocities were committed by all players in WW2, us included, but Germans were not fighting the war because they hated Jews. That is just wrong.

Russians committed some of the worst toward their march toward Berlin, but no more savage than the Japanese rape of Nanking.

Eastern front knew the Holocaust. When you have units going around specifically checking every village for Jews? When you have local 'police' being paid? Watched the movie Defiance? This was the whole Eastern Front. Every single village.

These units were WAY behind the frontline....men doing the fighting.

Cluster munition with distinctive Russian military identification on it. This is what was used to shell school kids earlier today in Artemivsk. Again, freelancers straying over from Russia have access to armory stockpiles of cluster munitions from MLRS's. All my friends and connections I've made over the years in Russia really hid this well. Those flats are small but they can hide some mean stockpiles of heavy armor and materiel.

When is the vote scheduled on Obama's request for war powers scheduled?

We will hear of casualties either shortly before or shortly after if it's defeated.

WAY? Not always. There is enough documented evidence that this happened just as forces were coming through.

Since you are a good lover of everything Russia, you'd be a big fan of Russian movies about WWII...pretty much half of what is produced in the movie industry. German soldiers were either complete Sergeant Schulz stupid or all baby killers using them as bats. Surprised Putin is on camera chumming up with Merkel and speaking German with how they portray Germans in film and television.

Pacer and Ras....opinion on the following link. Since we are talking credibility of sources can you deny questions of war crimes on executing prisoners here? Before you go clacking away on the keyboard on who this link is, I will remind you the actual videos and photos are from Russians themselves. Seeing prisoners up against buildings, bullet holes in the walls, and soldiers lying over dead with holes in their heads leans more on war crimes committed. Unfortunately because of Minsk II, these pigs won't face trial. Fortunately, because we know Russia will violate Minsk II I still hold out for swift justice for this scum.

I've been learning a little bit here and there over the past 2 years. I've gotten to where I can read Russian at a decent level (Cyrillic alphabet).

Probably not enough to where I would feel comfortable enough to hop in a cab yet and give directions, though.
