'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

Imo, they didn't have to take 3. If they wanted a 3rd, IMO it should have been a juco or a transfer with some experience. 3 HS guys imo will prove to be a waste.

The staff wanted 3 and took 3. That's their right. Of course it's Austin's right to then say "I'm out" , if he feels the need. 3 QB classes are VERY rare. Imo most recruits are not going to want any part of coming in behind that. Imo no one should be surprised Kendall is rethinking things.

As I said before, we need four scholarship QBs on our roster...if taking care of his team costs Butch a recruit, it's worth every cent. Butch is almost finished building a team that recruits should WANT to play for...it's on them after that...can't recruit scared...doesn't work. JMO FWIW AARP

Honestly, I've thought you were a troll for a long time, but you've been consistently ok for a while now. Otherwise you're a determined one.

Thanks I guess. I try to be reasonable and not step on toes nowadays. It's a fine line sometimes.

Did this kid decommit bc according to you guys this is a done deal. He hasn't decommited yet so let's calm down. We have been on this kid for a while. Said this at the beginning of this trend he is one of my favorite QB this cycle.

Exactly.

From VQ

Quotes from interview with Austin Kendall:

On Bajakian

"Obviously, it's a business and going from the college to the NFL is just part of it and you can't be mad at him because it's a better situation for him and his family," Kendall explained. "But, I did know him since my freshman year so it kind of hurt but I really established a good relationship with him and the whole staff and since I had the relationship with the staff it's been alright."

On 2015 QBs coming in

"I've done my research and a guy might transfer out or one might play another position, you never know," Kendall said. "And, it's just the business side of it. My family and my coach, we all sat down and did our research about it and I'm feeling alright now."

"You've definitely got to be confident. You can't go somewhere thinking, 'Oh, I'm not going to play.' You've got to go in there wanting to be the guy," Kendall said.

On Debord hiring

"He's a well-spoken guy and he has a huge background because he's coached so many big-time players," Kendall said. "He actually coach, coached Sheridan which is kind of funny. But, that's exciting to know that he's a guy that can fix things."

"He was just saying how his career was. I know he hasn't coached quarterbacks for 30 years but I did my research on him," Kendall said. "I'm looking forward to meeting him. I'm going to get to a spring practice or the spring game to see how he caches and everything and I'm looking forward to seeing him."

I don't see a material difference between coming in behind two QB's or three QB's. Either way, you are going to have to wait your turn behind more than one guy. If all goes as planned for two QB's one starts as a senior and one starts as a RS senior. Its the same delay when you bring in 3 QBs. You can only stagger them by one year. So really it makes no difference. Besides, chances are good one of the three will transfer out anyways giving you a 2 QB class in the end.

In a lot of instances you're right. Even taking 2 in a class can make it near impossible to get one the following year. See UT in 2014. Austin seemed alright with UT taking 2 in 2015 as he committed after both were committed. Adding Jones after those 2 were EEs looks greedy IMO and Kendall doesn't like the way it's trending. If one is paying attention, even Austin being "the guy" as he's been told in 2016 is in question. Trust is big in recruiting. You have to be able to trust the guy selling it.

Yeah...you're in a small group of butchna critics. :). butchna don't care...butchna got a job to do...butchna is stuck in third person. :pinch:

Uh oh, you done it now! My school's obviously inferior football and basketball teams will make you pay!

Good thing UT will always be my number one. At least I have Vol football.

IU can take solace in the fact they beat Mizzou last year. And the basketball team sucks a lot less than I thought they would. But yeah, always nice to have some UT football to feel better.
