Ukraine Protests

Why would they have to travel in a "massive convoy"?

Doesn't matter, we don't even have any pictures of these alleged Russian tanks in combat. Your telling me that these guys with VICE or some other news organization doesn't have any reporters on the ground in Eastern Ukraine that can get us video of these tanks in action during a combat situation? Hell, even the Ukrainians aren't producing any photos of this and they are on the front lines.

No pictures of the tanks? Dude. Spend some time on Twitter. Dozens of pics are posted daily. Markings of Russian military units are on tanks they see in eastern Ukrainian cities. I'll dig up names of reporters and spotters. As for Ukrainians not producing photos you seriously have missed out there. The evidence is overwhelming.

When Jen Psaki and Marie Harf start showing legitimate proof in state dept briefings instead of Facebook posts, I may believe it! But until then...

It was certainly meant to be funny.

Learning how satellites actually work, however, is a serious business.

I mean, honestly, you think a satellite is just hovering above your house constantly to take a photo of you when you go out on your porch to take a piss at night?

Dude, that's the kind of stuff I thought when I was in middle school.

**** in orbit doesn't just hover over your position for ever.

It moves.

There is such a thing as geosynchronous satellites though. If there wasn't, your TV wouldn't get a signal for half the day because the satellite is on the other side of the earth.

I said his aunt was part of the plot?

Are you drunk?

I don't know.

What did you mean by it?

You implied it was a plot.

Real people exists outside of conspiracy theories.

You just happened to collide with a real story.

P.S. I expected better out of you Obsessed. I thought you had more sense than this.

Don't you mess with my girls.

Jen and Marie and me have a nice thing going in my head.

So if the US government refuses to publish anything it didn't happen....and since I did not mention Facebook....

And legitimate proof...like what Colin Powell presented before the UN to invade Iraq. Yep. I'll sit back and wait for THAT credible source.

So these satellites are constantly taking photos and someone is constantly looking over a 1,000 mile border?

Not the same as a TV satellite.

Alexander Dugin, a personal friend of Putin's, and textbook writer for the Russian military, writes a book about how to destabilize the entire world, including how to sink the US into a state of chaos, and you're good to go.

An idiot intern writes some bull**** on a CNN blurb, and you think the world is coming to an end.

Man, would you wise up.

I love how the Kremlin state media sources are somehow saying "gotcha" over this while the so called "pro-Russia" forces are actually Russian military. So what it the Ukrainian military is pro-US? How does that narrative override the narrative of Russian units using heavy Russian equipment to invade a sovereign nation and shell the crap out of the towns they claim to be liberating?

Just a quick question....why was the US not promoting peaceful solutions during Maiden? Why is the US still pushing for confrontational means to this crisis?!

Just curious...what makes you think the US is still pushing for confrontational means? As of now, we just have sanctions. Obama has not committed to anything. We've sent light unit forces to the Baltic. Now let's flip this around and look at Russia's confrontational means. Besides sending bombers and subs right up to the line on even moderate neighbors' borders he's tossed Minsk and Budapest out the window. He's left open a border in which soldiers and all of their equipment "get lost" or go on vacay in sunny Ukraine. If anything the US has been passive in this. Obama has deferred to Frau Merkel who after a call with Putin over the weekend turned pale and appears to have backed down from her forceful tone from last week. So by all means, enlighten me as to the confrontational means.

If they can make a tv satellite that stays in one place, you don't think they could put a camera on one?

Going to need to be a pretty powerful camera to see stuff from 22,000 miles up.

Not only that (which that in itself is the big one) but they would have to plan on keeping that high dollar puppy parked in the same spot for years as well. Recon satellites are built for mobility. Conditions for spying change. Locations change. They have to be retasked because of changes in ground conditions or needs in other locations.

I'm guessing all satellite cameras are big though.

Most of the recon satellites, like photo type, aren't in as high an orbit as you might think. Couple of hundred miles at most.

Communications satellites like TV and whatnot are typically in geostationary orbit at around 22,200 miles up.

And I thought Volprof was the NSA agent.
