J-Rich was like 1-13 and got his shot blocked a couple of times. Armani thinks you need to knock the backboard down with the ball to make a lay-up. Reese thinks arch on a jump shot is to line the ball like a football pass at the goal. Each did good things that were completely nullified by ridiculous shooting.

Armani has the ball driving to the basket with a minute to go and the score 53-50, then slips in water left by our team during a time out because CDT can't seem to find a way to huddle up along the bench during TOs. They come completely out into the middle of the floor. None of the ball boys clean the water up after the TO.

The officials keep doing what they have been doing for weeks. Whatever.

Back to football.

I don't understand why people think a coach who's been doing this longer than some have been alive will have difficulty calling plays faster.

I don't mean this as a direct shot at Technovol, but I think a lot of people in general really believe play calling is similar to calling plays on Xbox.

No idea about game planning, scripting, etc.

SIAP. Not that it really matters, but I was just checking out the post-NSD articles on Rivals. I happened to notice their final team rankings, and saw that we finished #5 behind Clemson at #4. Can someone explain to me how they were ranked higher than UT.

We had 27 commits (29 w/ Bruce and Perry) to their 23. 4 5-stars to their 3. 13 4-stars to their 9. And our avg star rating was higher than theirs. I know they only put the top 20 commits in a class into the team ranking, which I have also never understand. But that still means our top 20 would be 4 5*, 13 4*, and 3 3*, while Clemson's would be 3 5*, 9 4*, and 8 3*. Even if you're going to say that they had guys ranked higher at their respective positions, the classes just don't compare when you stack them up man-for-man against each other. Just doesn't make a ounce of sense to me.

Yet again, not that it matters because the rankings really don't affect how the class actually performs, and I think any coach in the country would take our class over theirs if given the choice. Yet I still don't get it.

Here are my 2015 predictions. I figured I'd just post them in here since I'm not really sure what's going on over on the FF board. It's a little schizoid over there.

The SEC is going to beat the snot out of itself next year even more than usual. I don't see any team separating itself for the exception of Alabama. But even they may lose two or three games. Here's how I see it going down:

Alabama will have to win a lot of close games next year to win the West. LSU and A&M are going to be tough. It's hard to pick against Alabama though with the returning talent they have. But it's certainly not going to be as easy as previous years. I can't rule out Auburn either. A very unpredictable year for this division. Perhaps the easiest prediction is that MSU falls off significantly from their 2014 campaign. But if I am picking a champion, I've still got to go with the most talented team. Pick: Alabama

Missouri has been a real surprise the past few years over performing. UGA has been by far the most disappointing, under performing and suffering catastrophic losses to the likes of South Carolina and a very mediocre Florida. Missouri has to replace 5 key starters in the trenches, however. Tennessee is clearly on the rise. If I have to pick between these three, I'm going with Georgia, as again, they'll have the most talent on the field. However, the winner of the UT vs UGA game probably wins this division. Pick: UGA

If you look at the SEC as a whole, any one of six teams could realistically win the SEC Championship next year but fail to make the CFP. Perhaps Alabama has the best chance of sporting a good enough record to get into the playoff. But it may be that no team escapes the slaughter and misses a top four ranking by bowl season. The outcomes of several close match-ups will change the outcome of the entire conference. Going to be interesting, nonetheless.

Alabama 12-2 SEC Champion
Auburn 10-3
LSU 9-4
Texas A&M 9-4
Ole Miss 8-5
Arkansas 7-5
MSU 6-7

Tennessee 9-3 or 10-2 SEC East Champion
Georgia 9-3
Missouri 8-5
Florida 8-5
South Carolina 7-6
Vanderbilt 5-7
Kentucky 4-8

I need something to listen to. I'm open to all suggestions. Right now I'm listening to The Streets - A Grand Don't Come for Free.

I'd prefer something slightly outside of mainstream.

You guys have any suggestions?

If u like HONKY Tonk try Jackson Taylor& the Sinners. It is NOT family friendly

Nah we just sucked today. Our last two games have been pitiful at best.

Elbow to punter, flagrant foul, usually reviewed on video, led to uncontested dunk, next time down the court Josh makes unbelievably tough shot while being thrown in the cheap seats, no foul, Georgia has to commit two fouls to get in the bonus with under 30 seconds to go. What you got?

They have more top 100 guys than us. They count for a lot of points. Also, being a JUCO player means Kamara doesn't count for nearly as many points as a high school 5 star.

Ok I figured it had to be something like that. Although when you consider that they have Preston Williams in like the 140s, they lose quite a bit of credibility with me anyway. I'm sure they have before, but I don't remembering them dropping a guy that much because he got injured. And they had him underrated before the injury.

Alabama 12-2 SEC Champion
Auburn 10-3

Probably a fair analysis. I think we are probably an 8-5 or 9-4 type team, given youth, depth concerns, and inevitable key injuries. However, I also wouldn't at all be surprised if we completely caught fire and finished 11-2. I think our schedule is weaker this year than it has been in a long time, and we have serious talent now at every position. Dobbs is the x-factor - if he keeps developing, we could be really, really good. There's such a strong undercurrent of momentum running through our program right now that we might be about ready to explode... (...I'm trying to temper my expectations until 2016).

I think Arkansas ends up being the team that gets overrated by its bowl and late season performances next fall. And I bet/hope Mizzou falls into obscurity, never to be heard from again (at least not for another decade).

I'm calling 10-2. I think we lose only to UGA and Bama.

I also think we will eviscerate UF in the Swamp. Barnett and Maggitt will feast on their patchwork OL.

I look at 2015 as a much improved version of the 2014 team that won 4 out of 5 to end the season.

The only teams we play in 2015 that will also be better are Arkansas, UGA, and USC (slightly). I think Bama, Missouri, Oklahoma, and UF will all be worse. UK and Vandy will probably improve slightly as well but not enough to pose a threat.

Meanwhile, Worley had balls of steel. He got run over like a freight train but never seemed jittery and always praised that pitiful offensive line. He will always be one of my favorite players. He got us through a really bad place and won a few big games for us.

^This x 1000!^ 🍻

I can guarantee you under Debord that if we're on the one yard line we don't run fifty yards to get in the end zone. That's not his style.

I can't say I would be unhappy if we only win nine games including the bowl game. It has been since 2007 since we won more than seven. I definitely think Tennessee is on the rise and we're going to be a perennial top 10 team again in the near future, I just don't want to have unrealistic expectations so soon. If you are expecting Tennessee to win 10 or more games in 2015, you're wishful thinking a bit. Sure, it's possible and would probably take some chips to fall our way. But overall I still think Tennessee needs more experience, not to mention we need to consistently beat some top 25 teams before I'm comfortable with making that prediction. That's why I'm sticking with nine wins. That may not seem like too much of an improvement over seven wins but it is still a realistic improvement and movement in the right direction. Another great recruiting class on top of that with the added experience of the 2015 season and I think we will be absolutely loaded for 2016. The sky is the limit at that point.

We need to get the 3 new QB's up to speed. It is somewhat scary thinking QB2/3/4 will all be freshmen.

Random question for y'all...what game do you think we should checkerboard Neyland for this year?
