thats why gus malzahn i believe would be a perfect fit look at what he did at arkansas last year and tulsa this year tulsa ranked #1 in total offense

I keep seeing you talk about GM... There are a couple of issues with Gus. The biggest being Phil isn't bringing anyone and giving them TOTAL control of the offense, and GM will demand that, that's why he departed Arky so fast.

The other thing is, have you ever considered that maybe GM doesn't want to come to UT?

UT Fans as I am never consider that somebody might not want to come here. As an OC I would not if I felt I was going to be micro-managed.

true he might not want to come here, but with the right offer and if he can bring the vols and #1 ranked total offense or even a top 25 total offense year end and year out i dont think fulmer will care what he does. i don't blame him for leaving ark and you see what it got HN so

GM is co-offensive coordinator now. He would likely be the only OC at Tennessee.

If you look around at college football who's consistant. USC is consistantly there every year. Ohio state is there every year. Oklahoma right there most of the time. I wonder why phil isn't trying to pull some people from those staffs there is obviously some coaching talent there. Talent is good to have but these teams are there to much for there not to be some really good coaches on their staffs.

Because current OC's from the schools you mentioned wouldn't make a lateral move to OC at UT. Those guys are looking for HC positions since that is probably the only position left they can obtain that will pay more unless they take a job in the league. And obviously the goal of any coach is to get a HC position
