Recruiting Forum Football Talk XVII

I think some of you guys are unfamiliar with how trash talk works.

First off, eff Florida. They could beat UT another dozen consecutive years and their recruiting class for 2015 would still suck. Its like when you play pickup ball. Just because you took the ball from me and dunked on me doesn't mean that you aren't ugly.

Secondly, if you choose to trash talk your do it all the win. You talk it when you are up, when you are down, and even in the face of certain death.

TL;DR Florida sucks

^Gets it.

2 games below expectations? You thought we'd get 7 wins year one followed by 9 last year?

7 and 8 wins, respectively. That is based off of predictions based on a four year trailing talent average that has a predictive rate of roughly 70% regular season, 90% in championship games.

Interestingly, talent has predicted 10 of 12 games both years under Jones tenure. That is 83%. Two of those under performances came against Missouri, one against Vanderbilt, one against Ole Miss.

Historically Jones has an exceptional history of over performance, average a net of about 3 games a year more than talent would predict.

These Super Bowl commercials have been extremely underwhelming thus far.

Given that the Patriots' balls are deflated by their support staff and the Seahawks' balls are deflated by PEDs, I was hoping for more from the commercials.

this is a real post on secrant ole miss recruiting thread. :zeitung_lesen:

Creative.

Let me try:

Ole Miss is like Poland. Although they have a proud heritage celebrated within their own boarders, they are mostly ridiculed, and the source of constant jokes by those around them. Whenever conflict arises, other programs regularly invade their borders, taking recruits from their high schools, and victories from their games. They have never been much, in the shadows of bigger and more powerful programs, and never will be, but because they are Ole Miss, they are blissfully unaware.

Apologies to those of Polish decent. :hi:

Because, we went to the Orange and White game last spring and we saw firsthand that Dobbs was a playmaker, throwing and running, and in this system it's essential to have a DT QB. Dobbs should have been inserted into the GA came when Worley got hurt.

I think the only reason they didn't was that Worley wasn't hurt to the point of being out and they didn't want to burn Dobbs' redshirt over a minor injury at UGA. And honestly Peterman not being able to handle even a little bit of PT against UGA without melting was amazing, especially since his mechanics, knowledge of the offense, arm strength and passing etc. had improved so much from last year but sadly it was all a practice and drill thing for him. I mean damn.

Also, remember, Worley played lights out that game and even came back out of the locker room and played like a boss -- had he played every game like that he'd be a top draft pick.

Promises are important and the staff did its best to keep its promise to give Dobbs a redshirt year (they tried the year before too) and this year when it became Worley was lost for the rest of the season they spoke with Dobbs and his parents to make sure they were ok with them burning it (that was a situation where if handled the wrong way could've caused friction with the coaches and parents).

One other note: I hate to cite Basilio because he's typically an exaggerator out for ratings but when I was searching for info. on our OC there was a comment that said Bajakian tended to prefer pro-style QBs whereas Butch preferred DTs. In this case, it wouldn't surprise if that had a grain of truth to it. Knowing Basillio it probably just means Jake wants his QBs to be more pocket oriented even if they're DTs. Could also be complete horsepuckey.

I swear Jon Ryan of Seahawks just said University of Vagina
Regina in Canada I'm assuming? I know a few players from there are in the league. A NT was drafted from there a few years back I think by New Orleans. Idk where Jon went and I'm too lazy to google tho

What are you basing this off of? All of the players that weren't coached up properly under Dooley really hurt us. So unless you have some sort of magic formula that accounts for coaching, development, etc. this is complete nonsense. IMO year one we should've won 4-6 games (all we did win minus USCe, and possibly add a Vandy win) and last year the 7-8 wins was a maximum. That was my "formula" based on my eyes and week to week play as well as player improvement/development, and coaching.

We are not getting the Super Bowl commercials in Thailand. It just shows a screenshot of the field. It is in these times that you realize how many commercials there are when all you do is stare at a still image during all of the commercial slots.

Agree on the Peterman deal but part of it has to be in Butch. He didn't do very well this season making important in game decisions. I can't remember the exact scenario but I think we were pinned deep late in the game. I was begging us not to run but instead throw intermediate passes in the middle of the field. I think we threw one long down the sidelines and then did run up the middle. Again... I can't remember the exact situation but they did exactly what I was hoping we wouldn't and something bad happened. Was it a safety? Or a fumble for a td? Can't remember. But back to the original point...Its amazing Peterman was so incredibly terrible

Fumble for a TD vs UGA
