This Richmond recruiting is the strangest thing. I can not get a feel for him or Sapp the way they have acted. At times it seems like he wanted to come here, then others he is recruiting against us. He has been wishy washy about the whole thing. I realize he is getting a lot of pressure to go to Miss and his momma wants him there. But he stands a much better chance of making it to the pro's by going to UT.

That is why Van Jefferson is looking at Michigan I am sure, he realizes he will be seen more at UM North than UM south. Same with Richmond, Tennessee has MOJO that is why we are one of 14 teams ESPN will be at for NSD. LOOK AT THAT LIST, OF 14 you will see big time programs, but no Ole Miss. Vols are a hot team nationally, heard Finebaum tell a Florida fan last night that even though they beat UT last year Gators have fallen behind the VOLS.

I think Richmond wants to be part of it and championships. It is good that his family is coming in this weekend and we get the whole weekend it looks like. I hope CBJ can seal the deal and we get Allen as well. Maybe Sapp this afternoon and hold onto everyone else and man what a class. But we may not know till NSD. HANG ON TIGHT BOYS AND GIRLS THE RIDE MIGHT GET A LITTLE MORE LIKE A ROLLER COASTER BEFORE NSD. GBO VFL #richmondtothehill

unless there is an injury, he goes PRO where ever he lands

But Michigan is not a "hot team" right now either, although the hiring of Harbaugh certainly makes them an intriguing team, especially for kids on the offensive side of the ball. But VJ could be looking at the QB situation at those schools also. I don't know Michigan's QB situation, but the QB situation at Ole Miss is up in the air right now. I remember that one of the reasons VJ liked UT over UGA was because he liked Dobbs as a QB and UGA was going to have a new QB next season. Or it could be that he is intrigued by the idea of playing for Harbaugh over Freeze.

In these situations with recruits, it is always a positive if they elect to visit a school last that is not their committed school. Ole miss could very well lose him to butch.

Teran Johnson is an up and coming Sabanocchio.

Sadly, I'm inclined to agree with this. He basically tweets sensationalized, Sab-type stuff about Tennessee recruiting that gets people all riled up even if it isn't necessarily true or even close to true. Sad because he has a tremendous platform and opportunity and basically wastes it.

If you're looking for informative Vol Twitter follows, you could do much better with any of the established, grown-up Tennessee beat writers. Dustin Dopirak with the KNS, Matt Slovin with the Tennesseean, Pat Brown with the TFP, and even ole We$ley Rucker are all better choices. And, of course, you can't go wrong with any of the RTI guys - Dan Lewis (formerly with Nooga) and Reed Carringer (Football Time in TN) are both worth a follow as well.

Moral of the story: If you care about the accuracy of the content you consume, get it from paid professionals.

Agreed, just hope the kid does not start making graphics of players and writing them love letters.

At this point, I think we have a better chance with Richmond than Allen.

I suspect Butch feels he has a good shot at getting both of them. I personally think we have a better shot at Allen myself. I felt that if he was going to re-commit to UGA after Richt hired his new OC and OL coaches then Allen would re-commit after they met with him. He didn't. So I think in the end he signs with UT.

On the other hand, while I think Richmond may be re-thinking his decision and may have decided that UT is trending hot and a lot of the TN kids have gone there, I still think the pressure from Momma, his friends, and his HS coach for Ole Miss may be too much to overcome.

TeranJ just seems like one of "those kids" if you know what I mean. Really wrapped up in himself. Rather annoying.

The list of visitors will be headlined by top-100 offensive tackle Drew Richmond, an Ole Miss commitment from Memphis (Tenn.) University School who has been one of Tennessee’s top priorities for almost two years.

The Vols also are scheduled to host at least a few of their current commitments — including wide receiver Preston Williams, cornerback Justin Martin, running back Kendall Bussey and offensive lineman Venzell Boulware — along with offensive tackle Jack Shutack, a preferred walk-on candidate who claims a handful of Football Bowl Subdivision scholarship offers.

But all eyes will be on Richmond, the No. 2 overall prospect from the state of Tennessee in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class.

The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Richmond has visited Tennessee several times over the past two years, most recently making a pair of trips to Knoxville in October, more than a month after he announced his commitment to Ole Miss.

The Vols have remained involved with him since then, but their chances of stealing him away from the Rebels seemed to have faded just a few weeks ago. Tennessee recently started to sneak back into the picture, however, and again has emerged as a serious threat to Ole Miss.

Richmond told 247Sports on Sunday after his official visit to Ole Miss that he still “could see myself anywhere.”
