Looking more and more like DeBord will be the new OC

Nick Sheridan is a offensive GA and is a true QB coach.

Not experienced enough to be a guy to be trusted to Coach up an inconsistent Dobbs and three true Freshman. Not to mention that would also mean having to have a new coaching position to open up. Not sure having a GA coaching QB's is a move that ever happens. Just makes more sense hiring an OC that is also a QB Coach but I trust Butch .

And what happens when he lands a better job offer? Let another GA coach our quarterbacks? I know everyone starts somewhere, but QB coach is one of the most important positions on the staff. We need an experienced QB coach who we will be able to keep on staff for longer than a few seasons.

You think an experienced proven QB coach will be easier to hold on to than a QB coach that was fired from his last job and is now a GA?

Agree 1000%..We saw how well we did at RB when UT did that instead of hiring a true RB Coach. QB development is too important to leave it to a GA with very little QB coaching, especially with our youth at QB.

That's why I think having an OC who is also a QB Coach is the way to go. If it's just a straight QB Coach he would have several steps up the ladder to move and would be more likely to leave than an OC who has less lateral moves he could make, like as a HC or the NFL..

If you bought a club and had been establishing your customer base for two years, would you want to bring in a hot shot who wanted to do things his way, or would you want somebody that could continue what was already started?

Id want a guy that could take what was started and make it better. If that meant going outside what was done before to do that, itd be fine with me.

Further the progress is what I would want. Go in a different direction doesn't seem like the right thing to me. (I've read your post three times. I'm still not sure what you're saying.)

Im not saying a "yes" man would be wrong all together.

But bringing in someone that can add to what you are doing and maybe fix some things you dont see shouldnt scare you off either.

Dont confuse that with bringing in a guy thats gonna want to change everything you do from top to bottom, but If Im Jones I embrace new opinions and ideas.

I agree with this.

If it's going to be DeBord, I'd like to see Butch have Him_ in place by Friday. With most thinking he will at least help with the OL, having him there for Richmond's OV could be big.

Michigan has won more than 7 games/year only twice since Debord left as an OC 8 years ago (46 wins - 44 losses). They were 52-11 with him as an OC.

If Michigan fans are laughing, it's to hide the tears.

Wrong. They along with probably the rest of the SEC is laughing because hiring Debord as our OC, will makes us the laughing stock of the conference.
