I'd like to hear from NotoriousRPP and De1conley regarding the OC hire situation. Would think one of them would have something to report. If they have, I must have missed it.

One of several reasons is that is the HC's job. Saban is Kiffin's boss. Do you really need another layer to administer the OC that is going to run the HC's offense? Nah.

That doesn't mean that is what happens. None of us know what Butch is going to do yet.

With all the talent we have on offense and we're not getting a fully qualified OC that can run Butch's system, then I'm ok with all the extra admistration help the offense can get. It's the weakest side of the team right now.

But like you said, we don't know what's going to happen. And we all want the absolute best for this team..

I know it's alot to ask the recruiting forum but I have a request: can we keep the freakouts low until an ACTUAL definitive decision has been announced.

So so so many people are flipping their lids on rumors. Seeing "I'll blow a gasket if they hire debord" and other such girly drama responses.

WAIT UNTIL THE ANNOUNCEMENTS. I don't care how connected you think you are .... relax. Please. Everything will be alright.

Freaking out over football is a totally manly thing.

Nagging posters for doing it is far more girly.

Questioning the hire is not the same as flipping out. Nothing wrong with asking questions about a potential hire. I've not seen many flipping out. Jmo

I've seen some folks pre-freaking out. I even said it was okay to question the hire when it happens. You saw that, right?

This one has to be better.

XVI needs to be torched.

XVI was all:

No but I know I quoted you but that was in general, not directed at you. I've seen a few jump on anyone that dare question the hire.

A Closer Look at OC Candidate Mike DeBord | RTI

read this article just now and seems like he was actually a good OC. they compare his offense to urban meyer's, which i think works well in the SEC.

i do disagree, however, that our offensive scheme doesnt need any revision. it seems like this coach would actually have a positive impact on our offense. IMO we need more Urban Meyer and less Brian Kelly. fits the personnel we have as well. work-horse running back in Jalen Hurd, pro style QB with legs in Dobbs, good blocking TE Ethan Wolf and some efficient receivers.

basically i see this as a positive thing, unlike most every thing i read about this possible hire.

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt at all to bring in a guy who can add some pro style wrinkles to the offense.

Our red zone touchdown percentage was really bad last year. Settled for field goals way too often. Maybe Butch thinks DeBord can be a big help in those situations.

Former Sorta...watched the shows, but never went to any of the conventions nor did I ever dress up like any of them.

Now definitely TWD nerd...

That show has me checking for safe places and exit strategies more than when I was growing up in Memphis :)

TWD and NERDS don't commingle Doc...why's Glenn had to butch up for the zombie apocalypse. :)
