Looking more and more like DeBord will be the new OC

Maybe Butch knows something we don't....no surprise there. However, the most amount of points he put up as OC of 97 Michigan team was 38. That championship was definitely won on Defense that year.

Is there really one of those over there?

I don't know, but certainly wouldn't doubt it. There seem to be multiple threads Re: UT on Vandymania, on any given day.

It was more of a reference to this thread, from when Franklin left for PSU...
http://www.volnation.com/forum/around-ncaa/212370-meltdown-happening-vandy-message-boards.html

Vandy fan will take any opportunity to attempt to make fun of UT and/or UT fans. I figure there is ample ammunition to be found in threads on VN over the last couple of days.

Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth continue LOL

Go Vols!!!

I don't think most are judging by the paint job, more like the top end speed( one season as an OC where his team cracked 30 ppg) and apparent mechanical problems( been part of at least three coaches getting fired not including himself and been out of coaching for 2+ years).

I'm not a proponent of DeBord necessarily, nor am I an opponent.

I do know that if most here were correct in their assessment of a coach; Butch would've never have been able to recruit with a losing season; the defense wouldn't have improved from year 1-2 because Jancek 'failed' at Georgia; Sal Sunseri would've been Dooley's savior; Will Muschamp would've been a home run hire before Dooley; Gruden who has never been a HC in college and hasn't coached in years was the perfect fit at UT; Bajakian was so awful he should be fired (instead of getting a look for a CFB HC, and hired as position coach in the NFL); Butch and his staff can't recruit in the SEC, because Big East; the list is endless. The one consistent thing is that what the guru's here believe to be the important factor, rarely is.

Makes too much sense to be in the FF.

I think Magee is the best name I've heard for the job. Mangus is second.

But Debord would also be a great hire.

As tight as the "coaching circle" is in all sports, if you have not had an opportunity to coach somewhere in 7+ years, there is usually a REALLY GOOD reason for it. We have finally started moving a few steps forward, now is not the time to take a step backwards.

Who hasn't coached in 7+ years? I believe that Gruden has just been 6+, but I would have to look it up.

You may want to check your info, he was coaching two years ago.

Maybe that poster doesn't count coaching for the Seahawks and Bears from 2008 through 2012 as actual coaching. I mean if you ain't coaching in the SEC, you ain't really coaching.

That's a ridiculous comparison. You want to try again? Gruden had more HC job offers in the past 6yrs than you have logical posts on VN.
Who mentioned anything about head coaching jobs??? Some posts may appear illogical to certain people, if they don't understand context.
