Or I would just take the guys I mentioned and compete with the best of em. Yes, I would tend to sign more local instate kids. Take them and coach them. You know, how it's been done everywhere forever.

Majors made some money doing that after he got it going and then added a few OOS players to enhance the talent. But most of our best linemen, LB, and secondary players in the 80's were developed players from Tennessee.

He's wants a team full of 3*'s that will commit immediately and will never be a threat to leave since Tennessee is easily their best offer. JMO :)

True except the committing immediately part. He wants to wait until a spot is officially open each year. So that means sometime around January after the seniors are done and December graduates are gone. So we can start taking commits for the 2016 class a year from now. You know, so we stay on the up and up. Interesting take IMO JMO TIFWIW.

I think with instate talent improving, its very possible to focus a lot more within TN.

Now that 38 guys have quit, obviously I could take more.

But you said that wouldn't happen and doesn't happen. I for one told you that it always does. Especially with huge classes the first few years of a major rebuild. Even when not rebuilding.... just look at bama, GA, or any of the other top 10 classes from last year. Happens all the time every year, and yes it varies. Don't let that confuse your simple mind.

About as many from Georgia as anywhere. When we are good as a program Georgia players are all over the roster.

It is getting better but we can't put all our eggs in that basket still have to hit Florida, the carolinas, Ga and Virginia pretty hard.

Oh I agree. I'd like to see a 50-50 class ratio wise with instate and out of state. My OL would almost always be TN kids. Just my mindset.

8-9 wins, maybe. Maybe more. You don't have to have all 4-5* talent to win a title. Quality role players are key.

LV look the last say 6 or 7 NC teams and look at their recruiting class rankings in the years leading up to their Natty's. You do not have to have all 4-5* stars but you better have a whole bunch of them in your classes for several years.

And the way I stated I would have handled the class, I would have had plenty of them.

That was a fraud anyway. He played at Lancaster who plays pop warner football. His dad has put him in multiple situations and he's got to be like 20 now going to college finally. the kid is simply not good and only got what he got because of who his dad sought out to help his recruitment and their resources.

LV this Williams kid you want so bad played for Lancaster, really, and you are singing his praises of how great he is seriously. I know the school. I will take D1C's accessment and never think twice about this kid again. You can talk all you want. In state talent my azz.

and you'd be KY south and then w/o a job in 3 years ask Derek Dummy it's kind of what your comments reminds me of. To beat and compete with the best you must recruit with them likewise. Nobody wins with your recipe for success Leb. At least not in today's college football landscape. Yes Majors did it but that was when the dinosaurs were roaming the earth.

What's the difference between most 3* and 4* kids? Coaching. Let me at em. LOL

Can't help but laugh at folks saying I'd fail. "Not enough *'s" they say. But take Kelly and drop Ford. Seems well thought out. LOL

When Richmond becomes a Vol, all of a sudden the bashers will delete their previous posts and suddenly love the kid

This is why I try to not say negative things about recruits. You never know when things will change and that player you were bashing is starting at RG.

Yes, Saban only recruits Alabama, Meyer only recruits Ohio, Fisher only recruits Florida, Malzahn only recruits Alabama, Stoops - Oklahoma. BS LV if you really knew how rediculous the statement "You know, how it's been done everywhere forever." sounds. Schools recruit the best players to fit their system. Alabama, tOSU, FSU, AU, OU AND every other major college recruit accross the entire country.

Don't be so sure. I'd bet a lot of recruits/ families would appreciate my brand of recruiting. If you can toss a bit of integrity into the mix, does not mean no one would come.

You should start a team. And a message board for that team. And post there from now on. Exclusively.

That part of my comment was pertaining to the idea of sign them and coach them. Not so much where they are from.
