Ukraine Protests

If the Russians do in fact invade Mariupol, I think they're going to find that things ain't going to go so well. From what I understand, that city isn't nearly as pro-Russian as other parts of the east.

If #Mariupol falls to the pro-#Russia rebels they have a land corridor to Crimea, Odessa and Transnistria. The situation is bad.

Also civilians in Eastern Mariupol are being evacuated to the western portions of the city.

I think we all originally thought these goals could only be achieved by a Russian "shock and awe," but, I think what we're witnessing is a Russia that's content to sit-back and provide "just enough" support to the rebels (so as to have plausible deniability) but realizes it can still achieve its ultimate aims this way.

And here we go. Breaking. DPR accuses Kiev of a false flag operation in Mariupol. I'm sure a longer article is currently being written by Kremlin stooges.

False flag in its own territory to keep it where it is? The rebels tried stirring up the city a while ago and there wasn't enough support. Whenever they do the 'Ukraine days' mauripol has one of the best turn outs.

Donetsk has been bombarded for most of the year, with heavy civilian casualties. Why is it now suddenly wrong for residential areas to be targeted? Especially when there's been no confirmation of who's doing the shelling..

OSCE has already confirmed the Grad fire came in from DPR held territory but I'm sure they are some Western backed CIA conspiracy or something.

Back to the kid's table with you! We'll serve you some cake in a bit.

I'm sure it will reek of bull****!

I'll pass..

Speaking of which, you and Rasputin seem like pretty educated guys, but some of the things you two post are just so outlandish it's often difficult to take you serious. Red Butler is on your side, for the most part, but he's pretty sensible and believable.

My question to you is this: do you just hate America inherently so much you refuse common sense or do you just hate the current state America is in, from your perspective?

Since I guess I need to reiterate it once again, the civilian casualties in the DPR have largely been the result of DPR rebels (most often probably Russian soldiers) embedding with civilians, firing upon Ukrainian positions, getting fired back upon, then whining like pathetic Palestinians when they get hit and civilians die.

The attacks today on Mariupol, however, seem highly indiscriminate, particularly if you view the video Burhead linked earlier.

I don't hate America. I hate the current state that America is in, along with the people who run this country in short.

What is this common sense I'm missing?

That even with all the faults of America, we are a lot freaking better than Russia.

I don't see how anyone can accuse me of hating America when I'm more pro-Constitution than most of the people on here. Non-intervention in foreign entanglements, formal declarations of war if pushed to engage in war, adhering to the Coinage Act of 1792 (which would elminiate the need for us to defend the petro-dollar by meddling so much in foreign affairs) and a restoration of our civil liberties that have eroded from us over the last 15-20 years.

Unfortunately, this ship is sinking and we will probably have to have the system collapse before we can start fresh.

Possibly, I haven't been to Russia to get a feel. But I would argue that America is NOT the best in the world, either. America has slipped tremendously in the last 2 decades.

Also, regarding Russia, at least the leadership there wants to preserve their culture and look after the best interests of Russia. That is far more than I can say about the string of leaders that we have had in the country recently that have sold this country out and given away our industrial and economic advantages at the expense of the middle class. We've allowed the lesser among us in the country to suck on the govt tit as a generational way of life and allowed the large money interests to skim and rub resources and wealth from the middle class through Federal Reserve manipulations of the currency and allowing the banksters to privatize their wins and socialize their losses. Any country or entitiy that goes against these banking interests (Russia, Iran, Libya, Syria) is called an enemy by our govt and media.

These are all things I figured you would say, even though you don't respond directly to me anymore (I guess you have some personal vendetta).

Anyhow, you're about as pro-freedom and democracy as my butthole. And I would kindly recommend you stop pretending like you're some sort of great democracy poster.

Go back to the anti-women, anti-gay, anti-American, anti-secularist posting you're so good at.

Where in the Constitution does it mandate our government must preserve the "culture"?

You'll have to forgive Ras. See, he's one of those types that believe in essential "cultures" - that is, that there's something about Russians that make them fundamentally "Russian." The individual be darned.

Of course it's complete bull****, but don't tell him that.

It doesn't. But part of what used to separate us from the rest of the world was this countries appreciation and protection of individual liberties, for example. That "cultural" advantage we had has all but disappeared.

Please stop. You couldn't care less about individual liberties, unless those individuals conform to your particular worldview.

I hope you're an old man. Otherwise, you're just pathetic.

Wasn't the coinage act the one where the congressmen fought in the Capitol (Philly)? I tried looking it up but couldn't find an answer.

When people talk about "culture," they aren't talking about the police getting a warrant to look at someone's cell phone.
