Official OC search update thread...

And you're yet another who can't handle some ribbing and takes everything on here as an insult that doesn't mesh with what you deem fit.

It's a message board, nothing more nothing less.

I hope you can take a joke better in real life.

Feel free to hit the ignore button for my offenses against you.
Yea can take one in real life and can take one on here.. But you already said what you had to say but you kept piling it on..

Check times on my post and when the tweets came out. Multiple sources are confirming this. Wait it out and you will eat crow.

Multiple sources have confirmed a plane landed in knoxville? Or multiple sources have confirmed Tressell is interviewing at UT for the OC position? Because I cant find anything anywhere even on flight aware

Though I don't think there's any way this happens, I think coach Jake made almost twice what he did last year, and all of the staff is supposed to get a rise after CBJ's extension. Money talks, but his team will probably be No. 1 or 2 in the nation when the polls come out and he has almost everyone coming back from last year's team.

Also, does anyone know what style offense they run? I don't.

Not trying to be a grammar Nazi but I couldn't help but laugh when I read that and how it sounds.

So, let's say Z gets promoted to OC. If that happens, then who would we go after as QB coach? As far as I'm aware, Z has never coached QBs.

Just another wrinkle to throw in the mix.

And no, Peyton is not a valid answer.

Another thing to think about is it opens a hole at QB coach and WR coach unless Z pulls double duty and acts as recruiting coordinator.

Awful tall order for a guy calling plays for the first time in the SEC IMO.

If Z were promoted to OC, he'd have to give up the RC title. He'd most likely stick as WR coach as most OCs pull double duty as OC and coach a position. The most common occurence is your OC is also your QB coach, but given I don't think Z has coached QBs before, we'd be better off getting a true QB coach.

Imo in the perfect world of insane UT fandom.

Oc azanni
Qb coach manning
Wr coach Martin

Getting past the insanity, that scenario would also put you over the number of coaches allowed. The OC has to pull double duty as a position coach as well, unless you sacrifice a coach at another position.

I don't know who will be OC but I'm gonna go ahead and say who is not:

Tee Martin, George Quarles, Peyton Manning, Jim Bob Cooter

CGQ -or- Cooter

I know Quarles name loves to be brought up every time a position on staff opens up, but has he ever developed a notable QB? As for Cooter, isn't he coaching in the NFL? Why would he step back to the college ranks? Also, I have a hard time wrapping my head around hiring a coach that drunkenly climbed through a girl's window and into her bed when he was a student here.

Guys I'd like to throw my name in the hat. As a playcaller in NCAA 14 I have won many national championships with Tennessee. I mean, like at least 30 National Championships in total if you count back to all NCAA Football games in the franchise. Plus some would consider me an expert at the game of Super Smash Bros 64 (with Kirby, of course), which I'm sure many of you would agree is one of surest ways to grasp the measure of a man. I will accept as little as 200,000 per year but am open to negotiation. Let the debate!

Solid work here.

I doubt that whomever is hired will have developed a notable QB. But CGQ did coach the guy at Vandy that won in Neyland.
