So what we know at this point is coaches need to run away from this kid and fast with all I have read- has anyone close to the program said coaches are actually looking at Richmond again? Or that he just contacted them- that speaks volumes to me that seemingly the coaches dropped going after him like a hot potato- and hopefully that's the way it stays. Now I am going to take a Tylenol love you guys!!!

I agree. I want Allen. If Richmond comes I will be worried the whole time he is here.

GFW said there has been some contact recently. VQ mentioned the same thing shortly thereafter.

Here is my personal theory: Richmond really liked UT last year, as a bunch of his buddies were going here. Then sometime over the summer he started to learn about all the benefits he could receive by playing the game. Eventually committed to Ole Miss, took an OV to UT where some things went down, and we basically stopped recruiting him. However, I think its recently gotten real to him that he will have to actually sign with a school and spend the next 3-4 years there and so he's been trying to get back in with Butch Jones and co because this is where he wants to be in his heart. Whether he is able to mend the relationship in time remains to be seen.

*This is all complete conjecture. If anyone takes anything here as a statement of fact: shame on you.

Thanks Max and Dust for your insight! Has GFW stated anything else recently other than some recent contact? I agree with you Max, I would rather have Allen hands down or Tyree so we avoid any trouble. Not Worth The Risk. And Dust I can definately see where that could have happened- will be interesting to see how the coaches handle this. I just wish Allen was more of a sure thing right now...

All the petty bickering, I knew there was a reason I blocked out the last few weeks going into signing day every year. Seriously, if the coaches want him and can flip him, he'll be a Vol despite many saying "I don't want him." Hell, we took Daniel Hood and put his past sins behind. However it works out, that's how it'll work out. If there are any doctors in here, can you please start passing out xanax prescriptions thru NSD? TIA

Insider, hunh?

:)

Tennessee offensive line coach Don Mahoney is out and about today visiting with Venzell Boulware before he trips to Ohio State this weekend. This evening Mahoney will head to Memphis to meet with Drew Richmond as Tennessee continues to swing away in an effort to get him on campus before NSD. The staff and Richmond continue to have dialogue and he was open to getting a visit from Mahoney, but no official visit has been scheduled as of Tuesday afternoon and Drew is yet to give any indication that one will happen. It's something that we are watching

The fact that the staff is visiting is big. He is visiting OM this weekend. What if we got him here the last weekend?

Well done, haha. I'll start.....one of my former places of business when I lived in Memphis was a free standing building off of Union Ave that was surrounded by a fence with razor wire on top. Discuss.

Every time I drive by Memphis, someone shoots at me. :)

I generally agree, I would rather have Allen if Richmond is a risk. BUT, I'm learning more and more to trust this coaching staff. If Richmond is a take to them I'm not gonna question it. Maybe there is a possibility of getting both still?? That would be ideal. I'm sure if Richmond is a problem if he signs the staff would deal with it one way or another.

What I'm afraid of (and this is pure speculation) is that the staff is thinking they don't get Allen and they are pushing for Richmond more than Richmond is pushing to mend fences and come to UT. Hope I am wrong and it's still a bit of leftover pessimism from the doofus era.

I am with you Laager! Those horrible Doofus years left me in shambles football wise and I spent those years in the FF rubbing salt in the wound- I should trust the staff more also and thankfully now I am with the good guys in the RF! Thanks for your post!

I ALMOST ventured over to the FF today just to see what nonsense was going on over there but thought better of it :) Don't need any unnecessary anger.
