Tennessee vs. Gonzaga - Game thread

memphis can lose to us and still get a #1. If either of the teams wins all of its other games, I'd agree on the 1 seeds for both.

I am sure we will stumble along the way in the SEC but in the case that Memphis was our only other loss, we would easily be a number 1 seed

Depends on who you ask.. some people think the SEC being weaker will help our cause with the seeding, some think it will hurt. What if we lose twice in the SEC and beat Memphis? I think we can beat every team on the schedule... we probably won't but who knows. My point is there's just too many variables to be sure. I can't even begin to guess what will happen.

Fouls really bother me. It seems like the other team shoots free throws every other offensive possession while the Vols shoot very little.

I caught some of the second half, was glad to see them win, sometimes the vols look like they try to get to fancy with the ball and miss an opportunity to score.

Very good point and I'm thinking that is driving Coach Bruce nuts.

I haven't read this whole thread and this may have been mentioned but I loved when they were showing Pearl at the Fish Market. He has a ton of energy.

It would drive me crazy if I was pearl humanvol.

I know Jujuan thinks he is on the And1 tour part of the time. He can't just make the easy play. He has to dazzle the crowd.

The stretch through the middle of the 2nd half may have been their best. Half court defense better. Howell got beaten several times and our rebounding still has room to improve. I do not understand why Lofton isn't trying to get the ball to get to the line late in the game. He looks like he is avoiding it at times. He is our best free throw shooter along with JuJuan. He needs to step up. Great game from JuJuan and Tyler. We are getting better it appears each time out. I still think our depth will win us lots of games down the stretch in SEC play.
Go Vols!

Memphis can't match up with UT. I predict a #1 seed.

We can't match up with Memphis. As of right now, I feel that we wouldn't be competitive against Memphis, UCLA, Kansas, and Georgetown. But maybe as the year goes on and as we advance to play these teams we should be a different team and make a more favorable matchup

If we only have three losses at the end of the year, I would almost guarantee you we have a 1 seed in the tourney.

Exciting game. I think UT's offense went "cold" for the last 6 or 7 minutes more than Gonzaga "battled back" (as the article on the home page states) .

Our offense is very streaky for sure, but I think the biggest contributor to the Zags battling back were all the fouls. I understand that we have an aggressive defense, but it's hard to play it when everything is coming up fouls.
