Chris Kyle: American hero or

My point is there were individuals that knew where he was ......fifty million for one freaking person is a huge incentive. We already give their good for nothing government billions each year..... And for what? They gladly take the money and then look the other way

The US government had the chance to have OBL arrested, detained, and tried by an international court, yet that government decided instead to pay over a trillion dollars to spend the next decade trying to kill him.

As for the $50M ransom, given the reasonable skepticism one ought to have toward the US for its track record in taking care of foreigners who aid the US mission, $50M does nothing but invite an early death in Afghanistan or Pakistan. These 'dirt farmers' might be uneducated, but they are very aware of facts like that.

Seth Rogan has some interesting thoughts on American Sniper

Not sure if he's actually trying to be political, or just saw an opportunity for a great joke. Excellent reference, IMO:

"American Sniper kind of reminds me of the movie that's showing in the third act of Inglorious Basterds."

When exactly was this? You're not referring to when he was offered up to Clinton are you?

I get your point on the reputation of the US and their being suspect, but who in the hell would choose to stay in Afghanistan or Pakistan if they had $50M? That would buy a nice piece of land and several goats anywhere in the world.

October, 2001

Not easy to leave Afghanistan or Pakistan, even with $50M.

Good to see that fat POS Michael Moore weighed in on the movie on twitter:

"My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse"

You realize there's more to the man than just the book right?

I was addressing the comments of people calling him a braggert and liar. Considering it was a book about him, told by him I figured I would see that come out. Quite opposite on many occassions if you care to read it yourself.

Oh I do, it's just one of the dumbest things I have ever read. "Snipers aren't heroes". That is just beyond dumb, smfh.

I don't like the way "hero" is tossed around these days but that's just me. Him calling snipers cowards is possibly the dumbest thing he has ever said.

Michael Moore would be without a job or a platform if it wasnt for guys like Chris Kyle and others. He only spews his nonsense to ruffle feathers.

I've done enough looking into him. And I've seen push his job into fame by being on countless talk shows, interviews and writing a book about himself. I've also seen how many of his stories are pure fabrication, much like Eastwood's account of his tours of duty.

Soldiers are not necessarily heroes. The US public needs to distance itself from that myth.

Propaganda is not so easy to see when it targets you and your values. I remember in my American history class we read a story about how John Wayne couldn't be in the military so he decided to make movies to inspire others to join and fight. We all talked about how cool that was and nobody pointed out that he's basically saying he wanted to make propaganda films. Not saying it's good or bad, but it is what it is....propaganda.

You realize the # was considered an absurd # to start with right? That it was just used to get the point across. And if you think it would just be a simple handing over of money, you're dumber than I realized

Nice backtrack. First you defend the BS now it's absurd. Go back and read the post string and stop being LG.

Lol, no you just can't read. The statement still stands strong. You just overemphasized a part that was even orignally noted as an absurd #. But hey, keep bashing others when you're the one not paying attention! You're great at it

that's a very loose correlation.....John Wayne and propaganda films.....I see the logic behind it, but it still weak as hell.
