'15 TX ATH Ryan Newsome

PFort doing the 180 again today. Says TN is in it big-time with Newsome and he underrated the Vols chances.

Would be a huge pickup to land him next week.

Fort should go ahead and just concede he has no idea on this one. If Newsome makes it in we're probably in really good shape, even if he doesn't the in home could conceivably seal the deal since he did OV back in Oct. Did his family visit with him back in October?

Texas dropped the ball by not contacting him as much when they had a lot of staff changes but he still does have a relationship with one of their assistants (name escapes me)who has known the family for several years.

That sounds right to me. I'm assuming at this point it will be 28. That is the one number I've actually seen staff member(s) throw out in the past.

That is what I figured. It is impressive how this coaching staff has completely flipped this roster from a talent standpoint. In 2 more years, each player on the roster will have been highly saught after, with walkons being quality prospects as well. No one could have imagined Butch Jones doing this well on the trail. I am tickled to see how this class closes.

Do you think that is 28 counting blue shirts/grayshirts or actual total people on the commit list on signing day?

Could it be 30 minus a couple BS?

Speaking of greyshirts, I checked to see how jerome dews was doing the other day just out of curiosity. Remember all the lb vs safety arguments, well He plays defensive line now.

There was another thread quoting CBJ as saying 29 would be the number. Will have to go back and find it.

The number could go as high as 29 from what I heard but a lot of those would forward count as blue shirts, some will also be walk on players as well. 23 or 24 is the actually number we will be looking at as far as LOIs and EE on campus already. Swafford definitely counts towards the 25 cap and another blue shirt player may count towards it from last year. 27 to 28 I think is a more realistic number though.

I would imagine his staff will probably finish NSD 2015 with 31-33 commits according to all the sites, but only sign 29 of them (that was Butch's latest number). So technically with 28 known commits I could see us landing 2-5 more guys that aren't committed all depending on how many they can Blue/Greyshirt.

Edit: Obviously don't know anything for sure just a thought on how this staff likes to manipulate the numbers.

–l after the*recent addition of 4-star QB Sheriron Jones*– but the Vols could take as many as 33 according to head coach Butch Jones.
